Job Summary: Cougar USA is a leading supplier of water control systems for commercial building applications, specializing in Pre-Engineered and Custom-Designed solutions for water pressure, level, temperature, flow, and quality.
We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Tank Inspector to join our Field Service team. This role is responsible for performing detailed inspections of tanks, supervising cleaning, repairs, and relining work, and ensuring safety and quality compliance. The Tank Inspector will also support field and shop operations as needed.
Key Job Responsibilities: - Tank Inspection & Reporting: Conduct routine and as-needed inspections on tanks. Identify damage, corrosion, and safety risks. Complete inspection checklists and photo documentation.
- Supervise Cleaning & Repairs: Oversee tank cleaning, interior relines, epoxy coatings, and repair activities. Ensure work meets quality and safety standards.
- Customer Communication: Maintain strong communication with customers regarding scheduling, inspection findings, and recommended services.
- Documentation: Complete all required paperwork, including inspection reports, work orders, and timesheets accurately and promptly.
- Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all safety procedures, wearing required PPE, and ensuring worksite safety for self and others.
- Field & Shop Support: Assist in other field service duties or shop operations, including pump start-ups, tank modifications, or general labor as needed.
Required Qualifications: - Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical or trade certifications are a plus.
- Training: OSHA-30 Certification required (or obtained within 90 days of hire).
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in mechanical, plumbing, or tank inspection roles preferred.
Skills: - Mechanical aptitude with understanding of tank systems and plumbing
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and inspection checklists
- Proficient in basic hand and power tools
- Clear written and verbal communication
- Comfortable working in confined spaces, elevated platforms, and industrial environments
Physical Requirements: - Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Climb ladders and work in enclosed or elevated areas
- Stand or kneel for extended periods during inspections
- Travel to customer sites and work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions
Metrics/KPIs: - Number of tank inspections completed per month
- Percentage of inspections documented and reported accurately and on time
- Customer satisfaction with inspection services
- Number of safety incidents or violations
- On-time completion of supervised repair and relining work
