Description:

Summary / Objective The Branch Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and execution of Company branch operations. This role directs all aspects of branch operations, including Customer Service, Service/Repair, and Warehouse functions.

The Branch Manager will take a hands-on leadership approach, ensuring strong customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, and profitable growth across municipal and industrial markets. This position aligns closely with Outside Sales to support customer solutions through technical expertise in pumps, controls, and water/wastewater applications, without direct supervisory responsibility for sales personnel, and works closely with the Brand Leader to achieve operational and budget goals.

Key Responsibilities

Meet Budget Goals
  • Direct and manage all branch operations including customer service, service/repair, inventory, and warehouse activities.
  • Own branch operational performance, including gross margin execution, operating expenses, and service efficiency.
  • Work closely with the Brand Leader to develop, manage, and execute the operational budget to meet established budget goals.
  • Allocate resources to support operational priorities aligned with budget expectations.
  • Establish and track KPIs related to service turnaround time, inventory accuracy, margin performance, and customer satisfaction.

Sales Alignment & Technical Enablement
  • Align with Outside Sales to ensure operational and technical execution supports customer commitments and growth objectives.
  • Serve as a technical and application resource for pumps, controls, and water/wastewater applications.
  • Support solution alignment through application review, product selection guidance, and coordination of service and delivery.
  • Maintain working knowledge of the Company's core product lines including pumps, controllers, analyzers, and packaged systems.
  • Coordinate with manufacturers and suppliers to support technical issues, product availability, and application requirements.

Service & Customer Experience
  • Ensure the service department delivers timely, high-quality repairs, field service, and warranty support.
  • Resolve escalated customer issues professionally and promptly, maintaining long-term customer relationships.
  • Drive consistent service standards and accountability across customer-facing operations.

People Leadership & Development
  • Lead, coach, and develop branch personnel across customer service, service, and warehouse roles.
  • Foster a positive, accountable, and performance-driven culture aligned with Company values.
  • Conduct performance reviews, provide ongoing feedback, and support training and development initiatives.
  • Identify staffing needs and participate in recruiting, onboarding, and retention for operational roles.

Process Improvement & Collaboration
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and implement corrective actions to improve productivity, service levels, and profitability.
  • Share best practices, operational insights, and improvement opportunities with corporate leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the success of the business.

Competencies & Qualifications
  • Leadership experience in industrial distribution, water/wastewater, pumps, controls, or related technical markets.
  • Strong operational and financial acumen with experience managing budgets and performance metrics.
  • Technical aptitude with pumps, controls, and related systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills across technical, operational, and cross-functional teams.
  • Team-oriented leader who leads by example with integrity, accountability, and professionalism.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to perform under pressure.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP/CRM systems.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has direct supervisory responsibility for branch operational personnel and serves as a coach and mentor across customer service, service, and warehouse teams.#pumpsandcontrols
