Flint Hills Resources is looking for a contribution-motivated engineer to join the Plant Engineering Team at their Corpus Christi, Texas refinery. The Plant Engineering Team is dedicated to efficiently delivering high-quality projects to the refinery. You will be joining a community of mechanical, electrical, and chemical engineers dedicated to scoping and designing valuable improvements in the refinery units.

What You Will Do
• The Plant Engineer supports multiple small capital improvement projects (approximately < $250K) in a timely, safe, and cost-effective manner to improve unit/plant operations
• Lead development of drawings, bid packages, quotation analyses, and other applicable documents for purchase, construction, and/or repair of refinery equipment and facilities.
• Works closely with other refinery disciplines to investigate problems, identify, recommend, and execute long-term, reliable, scalable solutions to unit issues
• Support unit shutdowns and turnarounds
• Understands business, economic and operational drivers behind assigned projects to ensure technical recommendations meet business needs
• Complies with all FHR environmental and safety policies, specs/standards, and FHR Principles
• Periodically support the refinery after hours when "on call"
• Aids in supporting, mentoring, knowledge sharing and training within the engineering group to develop and further enhance team-members' technical skills
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
• Experience in refining or other petrochemical/industrial facilities
• Strong technical background with solid troubleshooting/problem-solving capabilities
• Bachelor's degree in engineering
What Will Put You Ahead
• Background in manufacturing (industrial plant) maintenance, operations and/or reliability fields beneficial
• Previous op experience as project, plant, or maintenance/reliability engineer
