ERMisseekingahighlymotivatedPrincipalTechnicalConsultant, Archaeologist to join our Cultural Resources Services team. This full-time, salaried position can be based out of a local ERM office in the Gulf region (Dallas, Austin, Houston, Baton Rouge, New Orleans, or Mobile).

As a Principal Technical Consultant, you will play a critical leadership role in advancing ERM’s cultural resources capabilities in the Gulf region. Your expertise will ensure compliance with federal, state, and municipal regulations while supporting large-scale capitalprojects.Youwillinfluencebothprojectdeliveryandbusinessgrowth, helpingERMexpanditsimpactintheculturalresourceconsultingspace.

    WhatYou’llBring:

    Required

    • GraduatedegreeinAnthropology, Archaeology, orcloselyrelatedfieldofstudy, orequivalentexperience.

    • 6-8 years (10ormoreyears preferred)ofrelatedpaidexperience.

    • AbilitytoserveasPrincipalInvestigatorforARPApermits, statepermits, andsimilarregulatoryrequirementsintheGulfregion.

    • SecretaryoftheInterior-qualifiedarchaeologistlistedasaRegisteredProfessionalArchaeologist(RPA).

    • Demonstratedfieldexperienceandprincipal-leveloversightforprojectsintheGulfregion, includingsurvey, testing, and/ordatarecovery.

    • Experienceauthoringorreviewingagency-reviewedtechnicalreports(PhaseI, II, III; NEPAdocumentation; datarecoveryandtreatmentplans).

    • Experienceworkingwithregulatoryagenciesasaconsultantrepresentingclients.

    • Abilitytoworkcollaborativelywitharchaeologistsandmultidisciplinarytechnicalteams.

    • WillingnesstotraveloccasionallytofieldlocationsandclientmeetingswithintheGulfregion.

    • Experiencewithmappingequipmentandapplications(e.g., totalstation, GPS, ArcGISFieldMaps, Survey123).

    • Driver’sLicenseRequired: Thispositionrequiresavaliddriver'slicenseand/ortheabilitytooperateacompanyvehicleduetothenatureofjobduties, whichincludefrequenttraveltovariousclientlocationsacrossalargegeographicalarea.

    Preferred

    • FamiliaritywithNEPAandregulatoryprocessesatfederal, state, andmunicipallevelsintheGulfregion.

    • ExperienceparticipatingdirectlyinSHPOandTribalconsultations.

    • Demonstratedsuccessinbusinessdevelopmentandclientrelationshipmanagementwithintheculturalresourcessector.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • ServeasPrincipalInvestigatorforprivatelandsurveysaswellasfederalandotherpubliclands.

    • Providetechnical-levelqualityassurance/qualitycontrolofdeliverablespreparedbyotherqualifiedarchaeologists.

    • Oversee a team of archaeologists leadingdesktopstudiesandfieldinvestigations, includingreconnaissance-andpedestrian-levelsurveys, testing/excavations, andconstructionmonitoring.

    • Leadandmanagetheperformanceofmid-tojunior-levelarchaeologists, includinghiring, mentorship, andengagementacrossthebroaderculturalresourcesteam.

    • Serveasprimaryauthorortaskmanagerforculturalresourcestechnicalstudies, ensuringprojectsmeetscope, budget, schedule, andqualityexpectations.

    • Supportprojectsrangingfrommulti-statelineardevelopmentstolocalizedinitiatives.

    • ExpandERM’sculturalresourcesmarketpresencethroughstrongtechnicaldeliveryandbusinessdevelopment.

    • Buildandmaintainrelationshipswithclients, managingpartners, andkeystakeholderstodriverevenuegrowth.

    • Collaboratewithmultidisciplinaryteamsincludingenvironmentalplanners, biologists, wetlandspecialists, GISprofessionals, andengineers.

    • RepresentERMinengagementswithclients, subcontractors, stakeholders, andregulatoryagencies.

    • Identifysubcontractorneedsandmanagetheirperformanceanddeliverables.
