AsaPrincipalConsultant, CapitalProjectSafetybasedinHouston, TX, you will play a pivotal leadership role in helping clients proactively manage EHS risks across some of the most complex and high-profile capital projects in the industry. From early planning and design through construction, commissioning, start-up, and project closeout, you will serve as a trusted advisor, influencing critical decisions that protect people, strengthen safety culture, and drive successful project outcomes.

As a Principal Consultant, you'll help clients embed Safety throughout the full capital project lifecycle, from planning and design through construction, commissioning, start-up, and closeout. You'll support proactive identification and control of EHS risks, strengthen safety culture, and help ensure regulatorycomplianceateachprojectstage.Thisroleoffersexposuretocomplextechnicalchallenges, mentorshipopportunities, cross-functionalcollaboration, andlong-termcareergrowthwithinERM'srapidlyexpandingSafetyServicesteam.

WhatYou'llBring

Required

  • Bachelor'sdegreeinsafety, occupationalhealthandsafety, engineering, constructionmanagement, orrelatedfieldorequivalentexperience.
  • 6+ years (10+years preferred)ofcapitalprojectEHSexperience, includingowner-sidesafetysupport, contractoroversight, constructionexecution, andcommissioning/start-up.
  • ExperiencewithSafetyinDesign, constructabilityreviews, PHA/PSM-informedriskreviews, andprojectEHSgovernanceprocesses.
  • StrongknowledgeofOSHAconstruction/generalindustrystandards, LOTO, permitting, emergencyresponse, fireprotection, andhigh-riskconstructioncontrols.
  • Experiencereviewingcontractorsafeworkdocumentation, includingJHAs, pre-taskplans, permits, liftplans, energyisolationplans, trainingrecords, andtoolboxtalks.
  • Strongfieldpresence, communicationskills, andabilitytoinfluencecontractors, projectteams, andclientEH& Spersonnel.
  • ProficiencywithMicrosoftOfficeapplicationsandabilitytomanagemultiplepriorities, travelasneeded, anddeliverhigh-qualityclientservice.
  • Driver'sLicenseRequired: Thispositionrequiresavaliddriver'slicenseand/ortheabilitytooperateacompanyvehicleduetothenatureofjobduties, whichincludefrequenttraveltovariousclientlocationsacrossalargegeographicalarea.

  • CHST, ASP, CSP, OSHA30, confinedspace, fallprotection/prevention, orequivalentcertifications/trainingpreferred.

  • DefineEHSrequirementsforscopesofwork, bidpackages, executionplans, safetyplans, phasegates, contractoronboarding, emergencyresponse, LOTO, andfireprotectionexpectations.
  • DesignandexecuteprojectEHSgovernanceprocesses, includingriskreviews, assuranceroutines, siteaudits, escalationpathways, correctiveactiontracking, andmanagementreporting.
  • Alignproject, engineering, construction, commissioning, operations, contractor, andclientEH& Steamsonsafetyexpectations, accountabilities, communicationprotocols, andincident-freeexecution.
  • Reviewcontractorsafeworkdocumentation, includingJHAs, pre-taskplans, permits, liftplans, energyisolation/LOTOplans, trainingrecords, toolboxtalks, andemergencyresponseplans.
  • Conductowner-sidefieldobservationsandsiteauditstoverifycriticalcontrols, identifyhazards, assesscontractorconformance, andescalatecorrectiveactions.
  • Participateindailyplanningandpre-shiftmeetingstoreviewworkactivities, siteconditions, SIMOPS/interfaces, permitneeds, andsafety-criticalcontrols.
  • TrackandcommunicateEHSobservations, auditfindings, contractortrends, correctiveactions, leadingindicators, andrecommendedactions.
  • Supportcommissioning, start-up, andturnoverreadinessbyverifyingsafetyplanningfornewequipment, energizedsystems, LOTO, operationalinterfaces, permits, emergencypreparedness, andtransitiontooperations.
  • Supportcloseoutbyconfirmingsafetydocumentation, lessonslearned, correctiveactionclosure, demobilizationcontrols, andtransferofEHSrecords.
