JOB DESCRIPTION : Director of Sales - Public Sector
CLASSIFICATION: Exempt
JOB SUMMARY The Director of Sales - Public Sector is a forward-thinking business leader focused on setting the overall strategy for the Empyrean public sector business. They are responsible for building a success-based business plan against which they and the business are aligned with and execute on. This role is responsible for the public sector segment, financial modeling, functionality assessment, and identifying gaps within the product and business processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Work with key business stakeholders to ensure Empyrean is meeting the market requirements of the public sector deal pursuits - this includes developing any external partnerships and ensuring vendor requirements are in place to ensure Empyrean's success in pursuing and winning public sector clients
- Identify opportunities to leverage existing and new partners in developing and pursuing public sector deals
- Develop and deploy marking plan targeting public sector
- Ensure Empyrean is positioned to receive and manage public sector RFP's
- Identify all key consultants or advisors Empyrean needs to target and build relationships to ensure success
- Work proactively with the solution leaders, delivery, products, and commercial teams to structure and manage complex deals
- Educate the sales teams on policies and deal-structuring models specific to the public sector market
- Liaise and collaborate effectively with the Finance team, solutions architects, the RFP team, the Project Management Office, Customer Care, and Empyrean senior and Executive Leadership team
- Participate in the formulation and drafting of new policies where required
- Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES - Ability to build strong relationships with various leadership teams across the organization

- Strong project management skills
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND/OR EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS - 5-10 years of experience selling into public sector entities in the employee benefits space
- Demonstrated experience in closing public sector business in the employee benefits space
- Demonstrated experience in developing a public sector strategy
- Benefit administration experience preferred
- Management experience preferred
- Or, any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered
