Description:

If you are a product management professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting position for you! Based in our Houston, TX location, you will lead product management activities for Gas Chromatographs product lines, and serve as an internal and external champion to implement /execute GC portfolio management strategies. You will be working with multi-functional teams to assist in leading product life cycle, new product development, product improvement, and enhancement, helping to drive business growth by engaging internal and external customers!

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

Market intelligence:

  1. Collect customer requirements for new product development or product improvement through voice of the customer survey, market research, and customer visits.
  2. Collect competition intelligence through market research, attending industrial events, and customer engagement.

Product Life Cycle Management:

  1. Implement pricing /discount policies. Provide pricing for parts or products on price books, in quoting and ordering tools, etc.
  2. Work with integrated marketing, technical writing, engineering team, to build, update, and maintain product portal, and collateral (datasheets, brochures, manuals, application notes, product presentations, product notifications/memos) throughout the product life cycle.
  3. Act as the interface between sales, BDMs, and engineering teams, to submit/drive EWR (Engineering Work Request) or ECR (Engineering Change order requests) for qualified customer requests.
  4. Assist in providing product training content for the field service organization.
  5. Provide install base, forecast, shipment, booking, and profit analysis per request.

Sales and customer engagement:

  1. Work with sales, and BDMs to assist and support trade events, customer events, factory visits etc.
  2. Supports GC CSC team in providing timely resolution of called-out product inquiries, questions, or requests.
  3. Collect global sales and operations forecast information and provide updates to finance.

Cross-functional support:

  1. Work as a product management representative on low complexity sustaining engineering projects.
  2. Provide support to NPD projects.
  3. Understand manufacturing process and cost structure, collaborate with operations, supply chain, and engineering on cost reduction initiatives.
  4. Monitor customer feedback on product quality and participate in product quality improvement initiatives.

You use financial analysis to generate, evaluate, and act on strategic options and opportunities.
For This Role, You Will Need:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technical Discipline
  • Minimum of 2 years of customer-facing experience
  • This role may require up to 20% travel, both internationally and domestic
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
  • 5-7 years of related experience in product management, product marketing, customer support, or project management
  • Validated experience in an industrial equipment manufacturer/end-user environment. Experience with Gas Chromatography, gas analyzers, or measurement instrumentation
  • Experience in Power BI
