Description:

We are looking for a Field Service Engineer, based out of Houston, TX who will be responsible for customer satisfaction, business results, and profitability by delivering optimized and efficient Marine solution services around the globe.

Using your expertise, you'll be passionate about delivering efficient service at customer sites (mainly Marine and offshore) with a strong focus on coordination, preparation, and execution.

Working with the Technical Services Manager, you will have the opportunity to develop your technical and engineering skills, whilst travelling (globally) and working on an extraordinary team.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Perform Marine related service activities such as dry docking, surveys, desk-preparation, startups of Emerson Marine instruments & applications.
  • Perform technical evaluations as part of all Emerson Marine related service activities.
  • Solve instrument related malfunctions and commission new instruments / Sea-trials worldwide (Shipyards)
  • Perform FAT tests, inspections, quality verification and preventive maintenance.
  • Coordinate and perform field device modifications - Instruction of operating principles.
  • Participate in Call-out service (including performing service activities at irregular hours)
  • Report in a clear and proper way all aspects of the service visit using the appropriate tools and software.
  • Maintain an optimal customer and/or colleague focused relationship.
  • Perform additional services from Emerson portfolio.
Who You Are:

Detail-oriented, independent, and self-reliant quick learner with a good understanding of electronic equipment, computers, and systems integration concepts. Able to systematically troubleshoot problems, analyze Information, and make on the spot judgment calls. Can build and maintain client relationships, have good reporting skills, be confident and quality focused, be patient and respectful when working with colleagues and customers.
For This Role, You Will Need:
  • Associates/Technical degree in Electronics or related field or equivalent military experience
  • 3+ years of Field Service
  • Must have a good understanding of computer networking basics.
  • Proficient with electronic test instruments and communication/interface modems.
  • Knowledge and experience reading and interpreting electrical diagrams.
  • Ability to travel up to 75% - domestic and international.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to obtain a passport.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
  • Experience in the Marine field.
  • Integration experience on PLC or computer-based HMI systems would be preferred as the required knowledge as a subject matter expert and trainer will revolve around understanding integrated control systems.
  • Willingness to obtain TWIC certification if not already certified.
