Emerson’s North America Engineering Solutions has a great opportunity for new graduates to develop and implement automation projects using DeltaV (Distributed Control System). We are looking to add an Entry Engineer to our Houston, TX team.

DeltaV is Emerson’s digital process automation solution that controls the production line of a plant by monitoring and communicating with equipment like pumps, valves, and transmitters. We provide project management, engineering and design services, and supply of control systems hardware and software for control system projects in the refining, chemical, petrochemical, oil and gas production, pulp and paper, pharmaceutical, food and beverage, and power industries.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Work in collaborative, problem solving teams responsible for control systems projects involving the newest technology available in automation, digital control and safety systems.
  • Work alongside expert process and automation engineers and assist with the development, update, and quality check of project deliverables. Typical project deliverables include network architecture diagrams, instrumentation databases, control systems cabinet drawings, software configuration and user interface displays for DCS, SIS and PLC systems.
  • Work at customer sites in the field by participating in field surveys and assisting with installations, checkouts, and startups of control systems. By working with customers and fulfilling their process automation needs, you can have a direct impact on improving plant safety, reliability, and efficiency for top companies in their industries.

For This Role You Will Need:

  • Must be an upcoming college graduate on or before May 2025 with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering
  • Majors in Chemical/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology
  • Must convey a professional image and build relationships with customers
  • Must be comfortable in plant sites, and possess the ability to navigate staircases, ladders, scaffolding, and catwalks
  • Must be willing to travel to end user locations up to 30% of the year.
  • Must have legal authorization to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

  • Previous Automation Controls experience
  • Previous engineering internship and/or military experience a plus
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
