Description:

Job Summary:

Oversees and improves the AS9100/ISO 9001 quality systems and applies in accordance with company and contractual requirements. Reviews status of customer (internal & external) rejections and recommends appropriate corrective action. Acts as a liaison with customers, vendors and various company departments. Advises Director of Quality of test trends, returns, vendor performance, audit results and corrective action needed. Responsible for the training, motivation and discipline of assigned employees.

Responsibilities and Tasks:
  • Ensures products and processes comply with AS9100 Standards
  • Manage, train, and guide quality control team for raw material, in-process, and final product Inspections requirements
  • Analyze quality data, identify and monitor trends, prepare reports and flow up to Leadership/Customer
  • Work with cross-functional teams, product development, and suppliers to integrate quality control into all stages of the product lifecycle
  • To keep personnel updated in inspection and test methods, quality standards, and quality system changes
  • Represent and lead initiatives of quality assurance in daily production operations and/or on-site government representatives.
  • To conduct inspection activities regarding drawings and other Engineering processes
  • Daily management and administration of PQDR/Warranty processes and interactions
  • Daily administration activities of MRB processes
  • Process improvement both internal & external
  • The person assigned to this position has the full responsibility and authority to execute all essential duties as described above


Education, Experience & License or Certification:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant Quality, Engineering, or Business administration discipline is required (if applicable, 5-10 years equivalent experience in related field in lieu of degree)
  • Preferred Certifications/Licenses:
    • Green or Black belt Six
  • Strong understanding or application of Lean Manufacturing methodologies


Skills and Abilities:
  • Job knowledge of the coordination and administration of quality assurance activities related to all programs
  • Proficient understanding of Government contracts and compliance
  • Proficient knowledge of material logistics (i.e. incoming source and receiving inspection processes)
  • Proficient understanding or application of Lean Manufacturing methodologies
  • Knowledge and training of manufacturable item support within an ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) compliant environment
  • Must be willing to lead or participate in cross-functional teams for special projects


Travel/Physical Requirements:
  • 90% of work to be conducted in a production environment with standard exposure to test equipment and compressed air noise levels
  • Appropriate areas require ESD smocks, wrist/foot straps, and vision protection
  • May require standing for long periods of time
  • May require lifting products +/- 50 lbs
  • 10% of work to support of Audits, leadership presentations, internal/external reviews, customer interfaces, etc.
