Description:

Job Summary:

The Estimator and Sales Support provides estimating and full sales support to specific agent and non-agent projects to include backup to all other agents (handled by others), review of all plans and specifications, square footage takeoffs on blueprints/drawings, estimating, quotation review and/or follow up and contract set up.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review all paperwork, provide thickness breakdown from blueprints and create pricing estimates on all projects
  • Handle incoming sales calls, consult with primarily agent clients, handle client through quoting stage to contract stage
  • Support the creation/building of long-term relationships with agents and non-agents
  • Handle agent and non-agent requests such as sending out samples, submittals and various product information
  • Work closely with Technical Sales and Order Processing Supervisor for material only jobs with backup on jobs and associated purchase orders for all projects; includes material breakdown
  • Travel (~5%) will include Sales support attendance at National trade shows and Agent and/or site visits when needed


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Associates Degree or equivalent experience required
  • 3-5 years of sales experience, preferably within the construction industry ( preferred )
  • Ability to read and understand construction blueprints (preferred)
  • Must be able to think independently and be a self starter
  • Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail required
  • Computer literacy and the ability to handle multiple tasks required
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills required


Work Environment:

  • Office Environment: This position may operate in an office environment and is not expected to adverse environmental conditions.
  • Manufacturing Environment: This position may operate in a manufacturing setting with conditions of high-pressure air/steam/gas, hazardous gas/chemical fumes, extreme heat and temperature variations, loud noise, exposure to dangerous machinery, dirty work environment and/or exposure to dust (pigment) . The position is required to wear PPE including, but not limited to safety glasses, steel toe/composite boots and earplugs.
