Senior Principal Engineering Technologist

Dell's Client Product Group (CPG) is looking for a Senior Principal System Performance Architect to join the Thermal, Power, Performance, and Acoustics team to create new & exciting PC products. This role involves architecting, analyzing, & optimizing performance strategies of cutting-edge PC products. Our team thrives on creativity & enjoys significant design freedom to integrate the latest technologies into Dell's award-winning consumer & commercial products. As a System Performance Architect at Dell, you will be responsible for leading & defining the performance optimization & benchmarking strategies of mobile products. You will work closely with other architects, including system EE, ME, thermal, BIOS, EC, & software teams to focus on maximizing the capabilities of leading-edge processors & to drive system-level decisions ensuring our mobile devices deliver the best possible balance in performance, power efficiency, & user experiences. You will also represent the TPPA team at cross-functional reviews.

You will:
  • Define and maintain system performance requirements across the product lifecycle
  • Optimize product performance to meet established requirements
  • Validate performance compliance throughout product development
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to deliver innovative, robust PC solutions using advanced performance analysis, software optimization, and benchmarking tool

Essential Requirements
  • Deep expertise in x86 architecture, system design, and balancing power, thermals, acoustics, and user experience
  • Proven ability to evaluate performance impacts of hardware, firmware, and software features, triage bottlenecks, and drive data-based trade-off decisions
  • Experience working with major silicon vendors, control frameworks, operating systems, and emerging technologies to forecast performance trends
  • Strong communicator and self-driven collaborator with a customer-first mindset, effective with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Desirable Requirements
  • BS in Computer Engineering (or related field) with 10+ years of experience in system performance engineering
  • Experience implementing machine-learning-based performance policies

Compensation:
Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range for this position is $188, 000 - $258, 500
