Description:

We are seeking a Credit Solutions Advisor - Consumer Loan for the Credit Solution Department.

The purpose of the Credit Solution Advisor is to resolve delinquency on consumer loans, credit cards, and overdraft share accounts. The role requires daily phone calls, processing payments, and collection activity letters. The Credit Solution Advisor is accountable for assisting members with resolving loan delinquency, CPI insurance matters, and /or other account issues affecting loan repayment. Perform skip tracing duties, examine delinquent loans, and make recommendations for extensions, due date changes, refinancing, and repossessions.

  • Timely and effective contact with all past-due accounts
  • Responsible for maintaining a working knowledge of the core objective of the Consumer Loan Credit Solution Department through understanding each of the job functions within their own area of accountability and their purpose and impact on the department, customers, and the company
  • Provide superior service to all internal and external customers
  • Proper documentation of collection activity
  • Process Loan Modifications, Extensions, Due Date Change Requests, Legal files within guidelines and timelines as described in department policies and procedures

Experience:

Required

  • 3-5 years of experience in consumer collections with an emphasis on financial institutions
  • Knowledge of collection regulation laws

    Education:

    Required

    • High School graduate or equivalent

        Skills & Knowledge:

        Required

        • PC skills to include word processing and spreadsheet applications (Outlook, Word, Excel)
        • Ability to work independently and with a team
        • Excellent member service skills
        • Excellent communication skills with the ability to talk to dissatisfied members without being confrontational
        • Excellent written communication skills
        • Thorough knowledge of credit union compliance, policies and procedures
        • Organized and dependable
        • Detail Oriented
        • Possess sound judgment and decision-making abilities

          Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8: 30 am-5: 30 pm

          Level of Work: 1C
