Position: Class B Shuttle Driver

Location: Ft. Worth TX

Pay: $19.00/hr

Schedule: Monday - Friday

Summary:

This position is responsible for providing transportation to passengers to designated locations within metropolitan areas. This person in this position will rely on instructions and preestablished guidelines from the School Manager. This position must comply with established safety guidelines and procedures in a fast-paced environment.

Position Responsibilities:

• Ensuring the safety of passengers is the prime responsibility.
• Provided excellent customer service by safely transporting passengers to and from designated locations.
• Exhibit safe driving skills, and attention to details.
• Patience is necessary when dealing with heavy traffic and/or rude riders.
• Driver must respond to passengers in a polite and professional manner.
• Assist passengers with loading and unloading of luggage as needed.
• Driver must follow all traffic laws and posted speed limits, even at the expense of arriving late to their destinations.
• Maintain vehicle in excellent condition by re-fueling and cleaning.
• Perform daily inspection of the vehicle at the beginning and end of their shift to ensure that it is functioning correctly.
• Report any unsafe conditions or road hazards, mechanical difficulties, and communicate needed repairs to management.
• Effectively worked as a team member with other drivers to ensure a successful transportation schedule.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job qualifications may include, but not be limited to:

• Driver must have the stamina to sit for several hours at a time.
• Driver must have hand-eye coordination to operate the vehicle while watching the surroundings.
• Driver must arrive to work on time, drive their vehicle following a set schedule or route.

Physical Requirements:

• Capable of hearing, with our without correction, sufficiently to perceive normal speaking levels and receive detailed information through oral communication in order to facilitate meetings and work with internal customers and stakeholders by telephone and in person.
• Position may involve kneeling, stooping, bending, pushing, lifting, carrying and moving objects that can weigh up to 50 pounds.
• Capable of working extended hours, to include weekends, holidays and various shifts (to include evening and night shifts) as necessary.
• Capable of sitting for extended periods of time.
• Capable of speaking, writing, and reading English well and possessing a good command of the language so that various types of communications may be conducted in English with people of various levels of education and capabilities.
• Capable of visual acuity, with or without correction, sufficient to prepare and analyze data and figures, view a computer terminal, and read extensively.

Education and Experience:

• A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must have a valid Class C CDL with Passenger endorsement.
• Must have a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
• Customer service experience is a plus.
• Basic computer knowledge preferred.
• Basic math skill is also required for proper documentation of work details.

Working Environment and Conditions:

• Must have the ability to work on more than one assignment at a time with frequent interruptions, changes and/or delays.
• Must be able to remain focused and work effectively, efficiently, and cheerfully under such circumstances.
• Must be able to handle incoming requests for assistance via phone and in person while working on other tasks.
• Must remain professional in light of challenging situations that may occur in the location.
