Position Overview

The Technical Solutions Engineer plays a critical role in supporting Bray’s growing HVAC business by providing engineering support and technical oversight for HVAC solutions and project applications. This position serves as a key internal technical resource working closely with the outside sales team and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate product selection, technical validation, and smooth project execution.

The role requires strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to evaluate engineering requirements while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities – Engineering Support & Project Coordination

  • Serve as the primary internal engineering resource supporting the outside HVAC sales team.
  • Review project requirements, specifications, and technical documentation to ensure appropriate product selection and application suitability.
  • Track and follow up on project-related action items with Purchasing, Scheduling, Inside Sales, Engineering, and SSA/Project Coordination to ensure technical deliverables remain aligned with project timelines.
  • Maintain clear communication between sales and internal teams to ensure technical requirements, schedules, and deliverables are aligned and executed effectively.
  • Coordinate internal workflows to support timely proposal development, engineering review, and project execution. Monitor deadlines, manage task ownership, and keep stakeholders informed of project status.

Technical Support

  • Review and coordinate preparation of technical documentation including STEP files, submittals, product datasheets, and engineering documentation.
  • Ensure technical packages are accurate, complete, and compliant with project specifications and engineering standards.
  • Work closely with Engineering and Sales to analyze technical questions, review application requirements, and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Assist in evaluating non-standard applications and special project requirements.
  • Support the standardization and improvement of technical documentation and HVAC solution packages.
  • Inside Sales & Application Support
  • Support product configuration, costing, and quoting activities while ensuring technical accuracy within D365 and Power BI reporting tools.
  • Provide technical input to support proposal development and solution recommendations.
  • Maintain working knowledge of LN ERP and other relevant platforms to support engineering documentation, order configuration, and project tracking.

Data Support & Reporting

  • Enter, update, and maintain accurate technical and project data within D365, Power BI, and associated internal systems.
  • Generate reports and dashboards to support engineering review, sales performance tracking, and project pipeline visibility.
  • Ensure data integrity and consistency across all platforms used by the HVAC team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred (or equivalent professional experience).
  • 2+ years of experience in engineering support, application engineering, technical support, or project coordination within industrial or HVAC markets.
  • Basic understanding of HVAC systems, flow control equipment, or mechanical systems is preferred.
  • Experience working with ERP, CRM, and reporting tools (D365, Power BI, LN, or similar systems preferred).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, specifications, and engineering drawings.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Comfortable working in a hybrid Houston-based environment.
