Job Description
BAYPORT POLYMERS LLC is hiring a Intern- Electrical Engineer (Summer 2027) in Pasadena, TX. This is a full-time position.
INTERN- ELECTRICAL ENGINEER BASIC FUNCTION Design electrical products and perform electrical engineering functions while conducting assigned projects and day-to-day tasks as part of a cross-functional team. RESPONSIBILITIES Position Review • Review drawings to ensure manufacturability, compatibility with existing systems, and functionality. • Analyze and solve a range of engineering problems • Contribute to continuous improvement by offering suggestions for long-term solutions to minimize costs, improve reliability, and improve loss control performance • Understand, support, and comply with all plant safety policies and procedures. • Function as part of a team and use electrical engineering knowledge to help the site • Contribute to a team effort by accomplishing related duties as needed • Ability to manage and execute small projects as assigned • Participate in quality assurance and commissioning of new equipment as needed • Other duties as assigned CORE VALUES Must exhibit and demonstrate our 4 Core Values • Caring: Dedicated to Safety, Employees, Customers, Community and Environment • Trustworthy: Living a Culture of Openness, Honesty and Collaboration • Connected: Build Strong Partnerships • Driven for Excellence: Commit to Continuous Improvement COMPETENCIES • Job Knowledge - Understands facets of the job, is aware of duties and responsibilities, keeps job knowledge current • Productivity - Manages workload, works efficiently, meets goals and objectives • Quality - Strives to eliminate errors, accurate work is a priority, seeks opportunities to improve product/services • Safety - HSSE - Works in a safe manner, uses PPE, recognizes hazards, makes safety suggestions and observations, current on Training Mine QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Current Standing as a Junior or Senior student actively enrolled in an accredited Electrical Engineering (or related) Undergraduate Program • Minimum 3.0 GPA required (submit unofficial transcript) • Experience with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint preferred • Strong technical, writing, problem solving and analytical skills • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Ability to follow directions and work tasks through completion • Detailed oriented with an emphasis on quality work products • Position is in a chemical processing facility and may require working different shifts PHYSICAL CAPACITY REQUIREMENTS This position requires the incumbent to: • Follow safety requirements for the role • Wear required PPE (eye protection, noise protection, etc.) when inside plant environment, or where directed by signage • Lift up to 10 pounds • Walk safely in and around industrial areas • Work under deadline pressure within an environment that demands attention to safety and detail • Sit or stand for extended periods of time • Work at computer for significant periods of time throughout the day
