Description:
Under general supervision, responsible for providing existing and potential customers with efficient and accurate services. Must effectively handle both telephone contact and personal contact in a manner that promotes good customer relations.

Employee is responsible to understand and comply with regulatory requirements for financial transactions, most specifically Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Customer Identification Program (CIP) as it relates to specific job functions.
Exhibits superior customer service as an Austin Bank team member. Demonstrates high quality relationship building techniques to ensure the customer receives the best possible solution to his banking and financial needs. Helps promote a loyal relationship between the customer and Austin bank.
Participates in developing a teamwork atmosphere with co-workers as part of department/branch location by attending meetings, participating in discussions, treating co-workers with respect and courtesy, and contributing to departmental goals.
Has a responsibility to stay abreast of company communications by reading publications, announcements and company e-mails, etc. Takes advantage of appropriate communication channels regarding bank related business matters.
Develop personal skills and capabilities through on-going training, as provided by the company or elsewhere subject to Company approval.
Uphold and safeguard the organizations values particularly relating to ethics, integrity, and confidentiality both internally and externally.
Greets customers and provides superior customer service.
Explains products/services available and assists in the selection of the most appropriate product/ services for the customer.
Opens personal or business accounts and prepares all related documentation.
Performs customer services such as ordering checks, processing direct Social Security deposit forms and processing stop payments.
Assists customers with requests or complaints and researches account problems.
Cross-sells the Bank's products/services.
Performs secretarial/clerical duties including opening and distributing mail. Monitors and orders supplies as necessary.
Answers telephone calls taking messages, forwarding calls or providing assistance to customers.
Verifies and processes changes to existing accounts.
Prepares, reviews and/or prints reports.
Files Bank records/documentation.
Performs duties regarding safe deposit boxes; i.e. opens/closes boxes, assists in box entry, maintains and audits safe deposit box records, schedules drilling of boxes, etc.
Backs up teller function as necessary. Cross-trains in other areas in order to provide assistance.
Completes Currency Transaction Reports when applicable and submits to BSA Officer.
Places hold on checks accepted for deposits, if warranted, in accordance with regulations.
Obtains information for outgoing wire transfers and processes in accordance to Wire Transfer procedures.
Maintains an organized, clutter-free and adequately supplied work area.
Reports to work regularly and promptly. Contributes as a team player.
Maintains confidentiality at all times.
Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, and in-service meetings, etc.
Maintains compliance with Bank policies, procedures, goals and objectives. Adheres to procedures for customer confidentiality.

: High School Diploma with 1-3 years of related experience or equivalent.
: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondences, and memos. Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the bank.
: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Calculate simple mathematical equations as applicable.
: Ability to operate a personal computer and use word processing, spreadsheet and Bank systems software.
: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but involved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
