Ardurra is seeking a Survey Group Leader to join our Survey team in Dallas, TX! This is a full-time position at a senior-level role that combines technical surveying expertise with leadership and management responsibilities.

Primary Function:

The Survey Group Leader will provide comprehensive oversight of the Dallas Survey Group, ensuring operations run efficiently, meet consistently high-quality standards, and align with business and regulatory goals.

Primary Duties:

  • Directing the operations of the Dallas Survey Group.
  • Provides support for Survey Office Technicians and Project Managers as needed.
  • Provides support for the Survey Field Crews as needed.
  • Conducts periodic mentoring and training with office and field technician staff.
  • Coordinates office staff assignment, field crew scheduling, and outlines project priorities to meet client deadlines and profitability goals.
  • Collaborates with Surveyors and Engineers internally or in other offices as assigned or needed.
  • Leads recurring project status meetings with staff internally and with clients.
  • Assists in QA/QC review of the preliminary deliverables prior to submittal to client or review agencies.
  • Responsible for signing and sealing surveys in direct supervision and control.
  • Maintains continuing education as required for licensure.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with existing and prospective clients, agencies, municipalities, engineering firms, and utility providers.
  • Leads proposal preparation, fee development, scope negotiations, and contract review for survey services.
  • Represents the firm at client meetings, industry organizations, conferences, and business development events as needed.
  • Identifies new business opportunities and actively participate in marketing, networking, and client development efforts to grow departmental backlog.
  • Supports strategic growth initiatives for the survey department and helps expand service offerings and market presence.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geomatics or Engineering required.
  • Currently a Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) in Texas.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience as Project Manager/Project Surveyor including leadership and project management responsibilities.
  • Experience in TXDOT and public-sector projects strongly preferred.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD/Civil3D, Microstation / Open Roads Design.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Bluebeam (or Adobe)
  • Valid Texas driver’s license.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
