- Inbound Lead Management: Qualify inbound leads and gather technical requirements, application details, and urgency.
- Opportunity Ownership: Own and advance unassigned opportunities from inquiry to order.
- Pipeline Development: Self-generated pipeline through outbound prospecting and identify similar customers/markets from inbound activity.
- Quote Follow up: Actively reach out to recent higher value and all prospect quotes.
- Re-engage dormant accounts.
- Maintain CRM accuracy and coordinate with engineering and customer service.
- Product knowledge: Possesses thorough product knowledge in order to evaluate customer needs and make appropriate recommendations.
- Always promote good customer relations.
- Career path into Technical Sales or Technical Service.
Performance Metrics
- Inbound lead response time
- Conversion rate for inbound leads
- Amount of self-generated opportunities created
- Pipeline Generation: $150K-$300K per quarter
- Quote Follow-Up: 100% of prospects and high value quotes
- Number of outbound calls to inbound leads and self-generated targets
Daily Activity Expectations
- Calls: 20-35 per day across inbound, owned opportunities, and prospecting
- Meetings: 2-6 per day
- Emails/LinkedIn Touches: 15-25 per day
Systems & Tools
- CRM - Opportunity tracking and activity logging
- Zendesk - Customer interactions and quote context
- IFS (ERP) - Pricing, quotes, and product details
- Power BI - Pipeline tracking and analytics
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience in customer service, inside sales, or technical support roles preferred.
- Ideal candidate may be a Customer Service Representative (CSR) seeking to transition into a sales-focused role.
- Technical aptitude (mechanical, industrial, or similar products preferred).
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
- Proactive, self-driven mindset with a focus on results.
