You'll provide classroom and hands-on instruction in manicuring, pedicuring, nail enhancements, nail art, sanitation, client care, and professional practices while mentoring students as they prepare for licensure and careers in the beauty industry. Position Summary As a Manicure Instructor, you'll combine your professional experience with your passion for helping others learn. You'll guide students as they develop the technical skills, safety practices, customer-service abilities, and professional behaviors necessary to succeed in the nail care industry. Your responsibilities will include: Deliver engaging classroom, laboratory, and hands-on instruction using Milan Institute's approved Manicure curriculum.Demonstrate professional nail care techniques and provide students with individualized coaching and feedback.Teach applicable subjects, including: Nail anatomy and physiologyNail diseases, disorders, and conditionsManicuring and pedicuringNail shaping and finishingCuticle and nail careHand and foot treatmentsPolish applicationGel polish application and removalArtificial nail enhancementsAcrylic and other enhancement systems included within the curriculumNail tips and overlaysNail repair and maintenanceNail art and designProduct chemistry and product knowledgeProper use and care of nail tools and equipmentInfection control, sanitation, and disinfectionClient consultationContraindications and client safetyState laws, regulations, and scope of practiceProfessional ethics and boundariesRetail and product recommendationsCustomer service and client retentionBusiness and career-readiness skillsState licensure examination preparation Demonstrate proper procedures before students perform new or unfamiliar services.Supervise students performing services on clients in the student salon or clinic.Ensure students consistently follow required sanitation, disinfection, infection-control, and safety procedures.Teach students to recognize contraindications and situations in which a nail service should not be performed.Reinforce proper setup, use, cleaning, disinfection, and storage of tools, implements, equipment, and workstations.Help students develop strong client consultation, communication, customer-service, rebooking, and retail skills.Monitor student attendance, academic performance, practical skill development, and overall progress.Evaluate student competency through written examinations, practical demonstrations, assignments, and other approved assessments.Provide additional coaching and instructional support to students who are struggling.Maintain accurate and timely attendance, grades, practical requirements, evaluations, and other required student records.Maintain an organized, professional, safe, and engaging classroom and student salon environment.Reinforce expectations regarding attendance, punctuality, professionalism, accountability, appearance, and workplace behavior.Prepare students for applicable state licensing examinations.Support students as they progress toward graduation, licensure, and employment.Participate in faculty meetings, training, professional development, orientations, graduations, and student activities.Collaborate with faculty and campus departments to support student retention and success. What We're Looking For We're looking for an experienced nail professional who has strong technical skills and enjoys helping others develop their talents. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED.Graduate of an approved Manicure, Nail Technology, Cosmetology, or other applicable training program.Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience working as a Manicurist, Nail Technician, or other applicable licensed nail professional required.Current Manicurist, Nail Technician, Cosmetologist, or other professional license required by the state in which instruction is provided.Must hold any Instructor license, certification, or additional credential required by the applicable state.Must meet all applicable state and accreditation requirements for instructors.Strong technical knowledge of professional nail care services, products, tools, equipment, sanitation, and safety.Ability to effectively demonstrate hands-on nail care techniques.Strong understanding of infection control, contraindications, and professional scope of practice.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Strong commitment to student success.Ability to provide constructive feedback while holding students accountable to academic and professional expectations.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to maintain accurate student records and meet established deadlines.Professionalism, dependability, and strong follow-through. Previous teaching, training, coaching, or mentoring experience is preferred but not required. Physical Requirements The Manicure Instructor regularly stands, walks, and sits for extended periods while providing classroom and hands-on instruction. The position requires frequent use of the hands and fingers to demonstrate nail techniques and operate professional tools and equipment. The position may require frequent bending, reaching, positioning, and close visual observation of student services. The employee may occasionally be required to lift and/or move products, equipment, or supplies weighing up to 25 pounds. The position involves regular exposure to nail products, polish, acrylic and gel systems, disinfectants, chemicals, dust, and equipment commonly used in a professional nail care environment.
