What will you be doing?

You will work closely with our internal team and clients to provide eDiscovery support leveraging a broad range of technologies and industry-leading best practices to uncover and manage data-based evidence and intelligence across a variety of contentious legal and regulatory situations.

You will assist our clients in confronting and resolving legal matters by providing eDiscovery litigation support relating to complex accounting issues on a variety of projects involving economic disputes, white-collar crime investigations, forensic accounting and consulting, and post-acquisition disputes. By establishing consultative relationships with our clients, you will guide them toward best practices in eDiscovery.

Duties & Responsibilities:

This role is an entry-level position within the Disputes and Investigations business unit. Applicants will need strong communication skills, familiarity with Windows and Mac computers, data entry skills, and attention to detail. The individual will have an opportunity to gain experience in litigation support, systems administration, and visual analytics in a corporate consulting environment. Due to the unique nature of this field, the company provides a significant amount of training for selected individuals. This means that the applicant will need to complete a one-year contract-to-hire probationary period. Individuals that exhibit exemplary performance and aptitude will be considered for reevaluation at six months.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Reporting directly to the Manager of eDiscovery Operations, coordinate with field teams to receive, inventory, log, and track chain of custody of forensic evidence.
  • Upload data from forensic laboratory to collocated data center.
  • Download, create, encrypt, and ship digital media as well as devices and forensic equipment.
  • Data lifecycle management of forensic evidence from creation to secure deletion.
  • Work directly with the digital forensic and ediscovery teams, contributing as-needed project support.
  • Position located in Dallas, TX reporting to office during business hours (standard 8-5) from Monday through Friday.
  • Proven capability to work as part of a cross-functional hybrid team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a high paced, quick to respond work environment
  • Practical knowledge and experience in applying given tools to all business processes. Possess the ability to instill a continuous improvement mindset in the organization.

  • Assist with entry level junior systems administration related tasks including password and two-factor authentication resets, receipt and possible installation of rack mountable equipment, procurement and inventory management of essential business supplies.
  • Collaborate with and provide entry level desktop support for consulting professionals with a variety of backgrounds and needs.
  • Perform procedural data entry tasks in a cloud hosted tracking system and provide daily checklist reports.
  • Support the Senior Systems and Database Administrators with day-to-day operations.

Provided the eligibility requirements are met, employees will also receive a discretionary contribution to their 401(k) from Alvarez & Marsal. Additionally, employees are eligible for paid time off including vacation, personal days, seventy-two (72) hours of sick time (prorated for part time employees), ten federal holidays, one floating holiday, and parental leave. The salary range is $50, 000 - $70, 000 annually, dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography.
