Description:

Schneider Electric is seeking an experienced Labor Relations Leader based in Nashville, TN to shape and execute our labor strategy across North America. This individual contributor role serves as the primary labor relations expert for our unionized operations in the United States and Canada (6 U.S. sites, 1 Canada), while also advising on broader employee relations strategy across the Global Supply Chain (GSC) manufacturing and distribution center facilities in region.

This is a highly visible, strategic role that partners closely with senior HR and Supply Chain leaders, including the GSC NAM Vice President of Human Resources, Cluster Vice President, Plant Managers, and the HR Directors for unionized plants. The successful candidate will influence long-term labor strategy, lead collective bargaining efforts, and help ensure a consistent, positive, and compliant employee experience across our manufacturing footprint.

What You Will Do:

Labor Relations Strategy
  • Develop and execute a multi-year labor relations strategy aligned with Schneider Electric's operational, supply chain, and workforce objectives.
  • Coach HR and leaders on labor best practices, and to effectively manage labor relations through strong understanding and application of the collective bargaining agreement.
  • Track labor relations trends, union activity, legislative developments, legal rulings, and economic factors to proactively inform labor strategy within the manufacturing workforce.

Collective Bargaining & Contract Administration
  • Lead end-to-end negotiation planning, including strategy development, data analysis, costing, budget alignment, proposals, communications, contingency planning, internal governance, and execution.
  • Serve as the chief spokesperson in national and regional collective bargaining negotiations.
  • Support and guide both local and national negotiations across U.S. and Canadian unionized sites.
  • Build and maintain constructive, trust-based relationships with site and regional union leadership. Manage escalations beyond the site level.
  • Advise leaders and HR partners on contract interpretation, administration, grievances, and dispute resolution.
  • Partner with site HR and Supply Chain teams to ensure consistent and compliant application of collective bargaining agreements.
  • Lead post-negotiation implementation, communications, and training to ensure leaders understand and apply contract changes effectively.

Travel & Work Environment
  • Up to 25% travel, with increased travel during negotiation cycles.
  • Hybrid role based in Nashville, TN; in-person presence required for negotiations and key site engagements.


What You Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including leadership roles in manufacturing or plant environments.
  • Direct experience leading collective bargaining negotiations and labor strategy development; multiple negotiations strongly preferred.
  • Labor relations or employee relations experience including handling grievances, negotiating collective bargaining agreements,
  • Demonstrated success influencing senior leaders and partnering with executive teams.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, labor relations, and HR strategies.
  • Proven ability to develop, influence, and execute long-term labor strategy in complex environments.
  • Strong planning, execution, organizational and analytical problem solving skills
  • Able to think creatively and strategically to successfully mediate and negotiate with individuals internally and externally.
