Technical Product Owner (TPO) We are seeking a Technical Product Owner (TPO) to join our Digital Power organization, focused on energy management and automation software and hardware products supporting the Digital Power business. The TPO will split their time evenly: approximately 50% leading a squad of developers for a specific mission within the software platform, and 50% contributing hands-on to the codebase. This role focuses on translating business requirements into technical specifications, driving development efforts, and actively coding alongside the team. The TPO will collaborate with business owners, technical architects, and system architects to perform requirements discovery several product increments ahead, while also delivering functional code and supporting the squad's technical execution.
For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $133, 000 - $147, 000 per year, which includes base pay and short-term incentive.
The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our salary ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Key Responsibilities - Lead and manage requirements development and analysis by collaborating with stakeholders, developers, UX designers, QA analysts, and internal/external customers.
- Actively contribute to the codebase (~50% of the time), writing, reviewing, and debugging code to deliver high-quality features alongside the development team.
- Conduct gap analysis between application and stated customer requirements, collaborating with Architects and Developers to estimate project impact.
- Work with the Offer Technical Lead to support project plans, schedules, and resource allocation, balancing leadership and coding duties.
- Support the squad in work decomposition, sequencing, and effort sizing, while participating in implementation as a hands-on developer.
- Ensure risks are identified, communicated, and mitigated, drawing from both technical and strategic insights.
- Lead the team in creating design specifications (Definition of Done), contributing technical expertise directly to the process.
- Leverage customer knowledge of power management systems to ensure consistent feature development across market segments (e.g., Data Center, Industrial, Healthcare).
- Apply an Agile framework and mindset to both offer creation and hands-on development tasks.
- Document detailed functional and non-functional requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria, informed by direct coding experience.
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of working knowledge within the energy and power management domain is a plus
- 5+ years of hands-on software development experience, with proficiency in relevant programming languages (e.g., #, JavaScript/typescript etc., based on .NET]) and tools (e.g., Git, CI/CD pipelines, ADO, Angular/React).
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with strong attention to detail.
- Solid understanding of software systems, databases, and development practices, with the ability to bridge business and technical domains.
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, applied to both problem-solving in code and strategic planning.
- Proven ability to manage time effectively, balancing hands-on coding with leadership and stakeholder collaboration.
- Demonstrated leadership skills in team building, influencing without authority, and vision setting, while remaining a collaborative team contributor.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies, with experience working in a squad-based environment.
