Description:
This role will design, organize, and manage all international transportation flows and solutions to deliver the promised service according to the logistic offer at the best cost, considering customs regulations.
What will you do?
Control Tower Operations
• Oversee daily operations of the transportation control tower for international, ensuring real-time visibility and control of shipments.
• Monitor and analyze KPIs across international carriers, lanes, and regions to ensure service level adherence, including On-Time pick-up/delivery, shipment visibility and on-time communication.
• Proactively manage transportation exceptions and disruptions, coordinating with internal teams and external partners.
• Lead Transport Data Strategy for North America, managing and coordinating activities with GSC Analytics, IT and service providers to develop reliable, accurate and timely data.
Risk Management
• Predict, identify and mitigate risks related to transportation delays, capacity constraints, and geopolitical events.
• Ensure timely and transparent communication of disruptions to all relevant stakeholders.
Strategic Leadership
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service quality, reduce costs, and improve agility.
• Collaborate with IT and data teams to evolve control tower technologies and reporting capabilities.
Team Leadership
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of transportation professionals located in different parts of North America (US, MX and Canada).
• Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and customer-centricity.
• Develop synergies and mobilize 3rd party service providers on-site and remote for partnership collaboration to achieve operational excellence.
• Implement and empower team members for early adoption of new technologies and advanced analytics solutions, such as Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
Stakeholder Engagement
• Act as the primary daily operations liaison between transportation, supply planning, customer service, and logistics providers.
• Present performance insights, risks, and improvement opportunities to senior leadership.
• Develop relationships with regional Control Tower team members across the globe to collaborate in daily operational support and long-term improvement projects.
Who will you report to?
• Director, Transportation Operations
What qualifications will make you successful?
• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field (Master's preferred).
• 8+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain management, including 3+ years in a leadership role.
• Expertise in Transportation Management Systems (TMS), control tower platforms, and analytics tools.
• Proven track record managing complex, multi-modal transportation networks.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
• Experience implementing digital transformation initiatives or control tower solutions.
• Knowledge of global trade compliance and customs regulations.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed, and collaborative environment.
