Perma-Pipe in Lebanon, TN (USA) is looking for an experienced QA Supervisor

The QA Supervisor is responsible for leading and continuously improving Quality Assurance and Quality Control functions at Perma-Pipe's Lebanon, TN facility. This role ensures that manufacturing processes and finished products meet customer specifications, contractual requirements, and internal quality standards.

The QA Supervisor oversees departmental staff, drives compliance with ISO and ASME programs, and promotes a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement across operations.

The role is situated in Lebanon, TN (USA) and is not a remote or hybrid position.

Leadership & Department Management
  • Supervise, train, and develop QA team members
  • Assign and manage workloads to ensure efficiency and quality output
  • Plan and manage departmental resources including staffing, equipment, and budgets
  • Foster a collaborative and professional work environment


Quality Systems & Compliance
  • Perform routine safety inspections, hazard assessments, and behavioral safety observations.
  • Prepare written inspection reports and track corrective actions to completion.
  • Assist with incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
  • Analyze injury and incident trends to recommend program improvements.
  • Monitor employee and contractor compliance with company safety policies and procedures.

Audits, Inspections & Testing
  • Lead internal and external audits (process, product, and system)
  • Review audit findings and drive corrective actions
  • Oversee incoming material inspections and certification verification (e.g., CMTRs)
  • Manage quality hold points and authorize product release
  • Coordinate product and process testing activities

Nonconformance & Continuous Improvement
  • Oversee nonconforming material processes and NCR documentation
  • Lead root cause investigations and corrective action initiatives
  • Analyze quality data (trends, reports, control charts) and provide recommendations
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing processes

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with production, engineering, purchasing, and shipping teams
  • Support third-party auditors, inspectors, and customer representatives
  • Provide training to production teams on quality standards and inspection techniques

Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure adherence to all company safety policies and procedures
  • Promote a culture of safety and quality throughout the facility

Qualifications & Education
  • High school diploma required
  • Bachelor's degree (4-year) preferred

Experience Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of QA/QC experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience required
  • Weld inspection experience required
  • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) preferred
  • Experience with ISO 9001 systems required
  • Industry certifications (ASQ, ASNT, ASME, or similar) preferred

  • Strong knowledge of quality systems, audits, and manufacturing processes
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead teams effectively

Work Environment
  • Combination of office and manufacturing/industrial setting with exposure to noise, dust, temperature fluctuations, and moving equipment.
  • Exposure to noise, moving equipment, temperature fluctuations, and industrial conditions
  • Required use of PPE in production areas
  • Overtime may be required based on operational needs
  • Minimal travel to job sites or other facilities
  • Frequent interaction with employees, supervisors, contractors, and regulatory representatives.
  • Occasional exposure to outdoor conditions when coordinating with yard personnel.
  • Demanding environment requires adherence to safety policies and procedures.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to move throughout office and production environments regularly
  • Ability to wear PPE for extended periods
  • Ability to safely navigate industrial environments (including uneven surfaces or confined spaces)
  • Visual acuity for inspections and documentation review
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching

  • Standard office equipment (computer, phone, printer, ERP systems)
  • Quality inspection and testing equipment
  • Non-destructive examination (NDE) tools
  • Measuring instruments and gauges
  • Interaction with industrial equipment (forklifts, cranes, hoists) when trained
