POSITION SUMMARY: The Lebanon Quality Assurance Coordinator works independently to complete the QA requirements of the production contracts placed at the facility. This job includes auditing production paperwork, testing the mechanical and thermal properties of in-process and finished products, and acceptance of finished product based upon specifications. The QA Coordinator performs the administrative and record keeping functions required by customers (specific job requirements) and the PERMA-PIPE Quality Assurance Manual, supporting procedures, and certification systems.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: - Perform functional, product and system audits to assure conformance to written procedures, contracts, specifications, drawings, engineering standards, and other requirements. Prepare audit reports that communicate the audit findings to the QA Department and management.
- Assure tolerances used by manufacturing are based on specifications, contracts, and company standards.
- Maintain quality records that document inspections, tests, and measurements. Review records periodically to assure they are organized, accurate, complete, legible and auditable.
- Perform material receipt inspection when required. Verify receipt of QA information required by Purchase Orders and Specifications. Verify traceability of material for orders requiring material certification to the finished piece (CMTRs). Maintain logs of all receipt inspections and certification data, including reproducible copies of the data. Certify the traceability of the materials on behalf of PERMA-PIPE when required.
- Maintain quality hold points and inspection points during the manufacturing processes as required by contract. Sign for holds and inspections when all quality requirements have been satisfied. Maintain required documentation.
- Supervise the Non-Conforming material procedures. Assure all materials are tagged and segregated when required by procedure. Prepare NCR reports and obtain disposition of NCR material as required by procedure.
- Prepare and maintain quality assurance data, analyses and documentation, including daily surveillance logs, control charts, and trend analyses. Prepare reports to management when appropriate.
- Conduct training of manufacturing personnel in quality procedures and techniques. Conduct training as part of quality problem follow-up and corrective action.
- Coordinate and supervise the visits of outside quality auditors.
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere. Lead by example, and communicate in a consistent manner with customers, clients, co-workers, supervisors, managers and all other employees.
- Abide by all PERMA-PIPE safety standards.
- Performs other duties/ projects as assigned or as required by the position.
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS/REPORTING: Works with VP of Quality, Health, Safety and Environment, QA Supervisor, QA Coordinators and others with the PERMA-PIPE Lebanon facility. Reports to the QA Supervisor.
QualificationsJOB REQUIREMENTS: Must have legal authorization to work in the US currently and in the future.
EDUCATION: Two-year technical degree preferred; equivalent work experience maybe substituted.
EXPERIENCE: Experience working in a manufacturing environment is desired but not required.
QUALIFICATION/ REQUIREMENT:
- MS Office software (Word, Excel) expertise is required.
- Certification by an industry recognized organization (ASQ, ASNT, ASME, etc.) is desirable
- Ability to read and interpret blue prints.
- Ability to move in and about the production area.
- SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES: Not applicable.
- TRAVEL: Not applicable.
- EQUIPMENT TO BE USED: Computer, office equipment and manufacturing equipment
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Physical effort/lifting, such as sedentary - up to 10 pounds; light - up to 20 pounds; medium - up to 50 pounds regularly

- Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands
- The ability to respond quickly to sounds
- The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces
- The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations
- The ability to work in extreme weather
- The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly most of the day
- Standing and/or walking for more than 90% of assigned shift
- Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
- Required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, thoroughness of work assigned
MENTAL DEMANDS: Must handle diverse work problems on a daily basis. Must be able to resolve problems, handle conflict and make effective decisions under pressure. Must relate and interact with people at all levels in the Company.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Subject to working both in cold and hot weather environments. Subject to noise and will require hearing protection. Includes variety of physical conditions, such as, proximity to moving parts, moving vehicles and exposure to high heat.
