Inventory Control Analyst

Position Summary National Guard Products (NGP) is seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Control Analyst to maintain accurate inventory records, investigate discrepancies, and improve inventory processes in a manufacturing environment. This position supports the availability of raw materials, components, and finished goods while helping reduce inventory errors, shortages, and excess stock. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and at least two years of inventory control experience. Strong analytical skills, proficiency in Excel, and the ability to collaborate with production, warehouse, purchasing, and accounting teams are essential. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintain accurate inventory records in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, ensuring inventory transactions are complete, timely, and properly documented. Review receipts, transfers, material consumption, production output, shipments, and inventory adjustments to identify transaction errors. Coordinate and perform cycle counts and support physical inventories, including count preparation, reconciliation, and discrepancy reporting. Investigate differences between physical inventory and system balances, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions. Prepare inventory adjustments for review and approval in accordance with company procedures. Analyze inventory levels, usage patterns, turnover, shortages, and excess or obsolete materials to support purchasing and production decisions. Partner with warehouse and production teams to improve material handling, storage locations, labeling, and transaction accuracy. Work with purchasing to resolve receiving discrepancies and support appropriate replenishment levels. Review item information, units of measure, locations, and other inventory master data for accuracy. Assist with identifying inventory issues related to bills of materials, production orders, and material consumption. Develop and maintain reports that track inventory accuracy, count variances, stock availability, aging inventory, and other performance measures. Support accounting with inventory reconciliations, valuation questions, and month-end reporting. Document inventory procedures and help train employees on proper inventory practices and system transactions. Recommend process improvements that strengthen inventory controls, reduce waste, and prevent recurring errors. Follow company safety procedures while working in warehouse and production areas
