Location: US-Remote or Europe-Remote. Reports to: Director of Learning & Ecosystem Development (Working Title) Role PurposeDesign, develop, and continuously improve Merchant Guild's educational portfolio by transforming publisher and game expertise into scalable learning experiences that support publishers, retailers, event staff, and the broader tabletop industry. This is a hands-on content development role: the Learning Content Developer builds, publishes, and maintains engaging digital learning content within Merchant Guild's LMS, working directly with internal teams, publishers, and subject matter experts to turn game and product knowledge into interactive learning experiences at scale. MissionBuild the industry's highest-quality tabletop educational content by combining instructional design expertise with deep publisher and game knowledge -- creating learning experiences that are engaging, scalable, and commercially valuable. Primary Areas of Ownership: Learning Design Develop e-learning courses, self-paced modules, interactive lessons, videos, quizzes, assessments, and certification content within the LMS. Translate complex game and product information into clear, learner-focused content. Write scripts, learner guides, facilitator materials, job aids, and reference documents. Design learning paths tailored to distinct audiences (staff, retailers, judges, publishers). Educational PortfolioBuild and maintain content across: Publisher education and product knowledge Internal staff and event staff onboarding Retail partner education and demo scripts Judge certification Sales enablement New product launches and game demonstrations Content Governance Own the educational content lifecycle end-to-end. Coordinate game-specific SMEs to keep content accurate and current. Manage learning assets and drive continuous curriculum improvement. Success Looks Like High-quality learning content delivered on schedule, with strong learner completion and satisfaction rates. Accurate, current educational content across all audiences and consistent certification/onboarding standards. A well-organized, scalable LMS content library with reusable assets across publishers. Strong publisher satisfaction and rapid turnaround on new learning materials supporting business initiatives. Strategic Impact Ensures educational consistency across publishers. Enables rapid launch of new educational programs. Creates reusable learning assets that scale across multiple clients. Year One Priorities: Establish foundational LMS content and a repeatable content-development process. Build onboarding curriculum for internal staff and event staffing. Launch initial certification pathways for publishers, retailers, and judges. Create standardized publisher curriculum templates for future course development. Produce product education content for key publishing partners. Establish SME development processes and organize/maintain the LMS content library. Measure learner engagement and iterate on course effectiveness. Qualifications: Experience in instructional design, curriculum development, or e-learning content creation, ideally within an LMS environment. Familiarity with the tabletop/TCG industry required -- understanding of how publishers, retailers, judges, and organized play function (e.g., certification structures, demo/product education norms, event operations) is essential to translating SME knowledge accurately. Strong writing skills across formats: scripts, job aids, facilitator guides, assessments. Ability to work cross-functionally with publishers and internal SMEs who may not have instructional design backgrounds. #LI-Remote
