Description:
The Purchasing Team Lead will be responsible for overseeing the administration of all purchasing functions including purchase order issuance, procurement and ordering activities, and the management of internal and external vendor relationships.
Primary Duties:
- Responsible for the timely processing and coordination of all corporate purchases, including both internal needs and external client
- needs.
- Provide timely and accurate reconciliation of purchasing documents to ensure proper items are purchased, delivered, and recorded.
- Analyze and project cash requirements needed to meet purchasing commitments.
- Ensure proper internal controls over procurement process.
- Manage vendor relationships and improve margin where available.
- Lead and train Purchasing staff.
- Assist with special MEDHOST functions as requested.
Other Requirements:
- 2 - 4 years experience in Team Lead or equivalent role preferred.
- 5-years plus purchasing experience preferred, ideally with annual spend exceeded $100MM.
- Experience implementing and maintaining a purchasing software package.
- Experience implementing strong internal controls.
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience required.
- Must be well-organized and able to work under deadlines.
- Ability to work independently with little direction or follow-up.
- Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully; develops alternative solutions; works well in-group problem solving situations; uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics.
- Good interpersonal skills that include the ability to effectively communicate in both writing and verbal communication skills.
- Must be detail-oriented, organized and have the ability to multi-task.
- Ability to demonstrate supportive relationships with peers, customers, partners, and corporate executives.
- Must be flexible with a can-do attitude and have the ability to remain professional under high-pressure situations.
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Experience with Sage Intacct a plus.
- Ability to retain and protect confidential material.
- Negative pre-employment drug tests.
