Description:
The Sales Assistant works closely with their assigned Account Manager(s), and plays a critical role in optimizing their time, focus and energy to meet and exceed their sales targets. This position provides a focused level of attention to their assigned Account Manager(s), naturally build and maintain strong relationships within the company and with its business partners, be flexible and easily assess and align priorities. This is meant to be a guide. Duties may vary dependent upon management.)Essential Position Functions: - Partner with assigned Account Manager(s) and/or Procurement team to source/buy "special" or non-traditional stock items.
- Partner with Master Data Management team to set up vendor rebated costs in ERP system (M3), and ensure that pricing rules are established and maintained, and any applicable rebates are applied.
- Enter and maintain customer pricing in ERP system.
- Complete product quotes for current and prospective customers.
- Ensure open orders are managed properly to ensure timely billing including obtaining invoices for dropship orders, assisting with researching delayed invoices for warehouse/cross dock orders, confirming shipping date is accurate in M3.
- Manage the administrative processes of the consignment program of assigned Account Manager(s): tracking shipments, monitoring inventory levels, and initiating invoice process.
- Assist with the coordination of new opportunities: track new opportunities in assigned system, partner with Account Manager(s) to obtain samples from vendors, assist with sourcing and drafting customer proposal.
- Partner with Account Manager(s) to coordinate the communication of any issues/challenges with teams across the organization (ex. Procurement, Operations, Accounting/Finance).
- Complete ongoing/periodic reviews to ensure item costs are accurate, stocking levels are in line with forecast and/or required safety stock levels.
- Ensure Account Manager(s) is/are aware of pending/upcoming cost changes.
- Partner with Account Manager(s) to manage the stocking agreement process.
- Partner with Account Manager(s), Master Data Management and Procurement teams for new item set-up within M3.
- Coordinate any necessary activities to assist with managing mill complaints.
- Assist Account Manager(s) with monitoring Accounts Receivable aging reports to ensure timely payment from customers. Partner with Account Manager(s) to communicate with customers regarding invoice questions, corrections, etc.
- Accompany Account Manager(s) to current/potential customer meetings as required.
- Assist with quarterly business reviews as necessary.
- Other duties as required.

Education and/or Experience: - High school diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor's degree or related equivalent experience required.
- 5 years of proven sales support experience required.
- Familiarity with CRM and ERP systems required.
- Willingness to be adaptable and flexible with assignments.
- Must have intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) skills.
- Must be able to efficiently use a Windows-based computer.
- Ability to prioritize and complete assignments accurately and in a timely manner.
- Able to effectively handle multiple priorities with a strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, oral, and written communications skills.
- Must be able to read and communicate in English, for safe and effective performance of the job and business operations.
- Must be able to work alone, and with a team.
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and criminal background check.
