Job Overview: Linde is seeking an Instrumentation Reliability Specialist to join our team at our Southeast Reliability Center. This position will be located within the Southeast region at one of the following locations, Memphis, TN, Mobile, AL or Mims, FL. reporting to the Reliability Center Manager and collaborating with Linde Gases' US Regional Reliability team. This hands-on role is key to achieving strategic reliability goals across the region. The Instrumentation Reliability Specialist ensures the safe and reliable operation of production facilities at optimal life cycle cost. This role involves designing, implementing, and managing preventive/predictive programs, as well as developing corrective maintenance solutions for instrument systems and equipment at multiple sites. Independence in fieldwork and sound technical decision-making are essential for success in this position. Responsibilities: - Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and calibration of industrial instrumentation and control systems. - Plan, schedule, and coordinate both preventive and corrective maintenance activities. - Participate in root cause analysis for major failures. - Identify and address chronic issues (bad actors) and long-term asset concerns. - Support turnaround planning and cost estimation for instrumentation tasks. - Specify and implement new technologies and instrumentation systems. - Train and mentor existing and new instrumentation specialists within the region. - Lead the implementation and compliance of Procal (Instrumentation Calibration/Asset Management Software) in the region. - Assist with FDA and cGMP validation activities for instrumentation systems and equipment. - Analyze equipment performance data to optimize efficiency and reliability. - Provide on-site or remote guidance to plant personnel and contractors, ensuring safe and effective work practices. - Resolve high-impact issues promptly and with integrity. - Develop and execute strategies to address instrumentation obsolescence. This role involves a combination of office and fieldwork, with approximately 30% domestic travel. Off-hours availability is required. The position may involve working in varying weather conditions and accessing elevated equipment using ladders, scaffolding, man-lifts, or crane baskets. Qualifications: Required: - Associate Degree or Engineering Technology Degree in Instrumentation/Electronics with at least 5 years of experience in industrial instrumentation systems maintenance. - Expertise in installation, troubleshooting, repair, testing, and calibration of industrial instrumentation systems and equipment. - Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices for instrumentation systems and equipment. - Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. - Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively with minimal supervision. - Proficiency in computers and standard software tools (e.g., MS Office, email). Preferred: - Bachelor's Degree in Electronics Engineering or Electrical Engineering. - Familiarity with regulatory and industrial standards and codes. - Experience with process control systems and methodologies in industrial manufacturing environments. - Proficiency in asset management systems like Infor EAM or Procal.
