Description:

Unit Clerk Lakeshore Meadows

Full time: Monday- Friday 8am-5pm

Job description: Responsible for communication at the rehab nursing station with families, nurses and other allied health individuals by phone, email, or fax. Responsible for assisting patients and/or families in setting up follow up outpatient appointments and transportation to and from appointments. Responsible for keeping the station organized and tidy throughout the day.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Must be organized and capable of keeping the station clean and tidy.
  • Must present a professional appearance.
  • Able to work with people and various departments, including vendors.
  • Knowledgeable in using calculator and computer.
  • Works independently with little or no supervision.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Able to see, hear, and communicate adequately to complete all job duties and responsibilities.
  • Able to be on feet standing or walking 8 hours per day.
  • Able to carry out fine motor skills and manual dexterity.
  • Able to bend stoop, squat, and lift without restrictions.

NURSING SERVICE RESPONSBILITIES:
  • Maintains a positive and friendly attitude while assisting families, patients, and partners who approach the area needing assistance.
  • Answer the telephone and relay messages.
  • Electronic Health Record documentation as indicated, including but not limited to order entry and vital signs.
  • Maintain a schedule of patients' appointments and transportation, assisting with arrangements as needed.
  • Processing of laboratory, x-ray and/or special tests and see that reports are received.
  • Maintain the inventory of paper and desk supplies.
  • Ensures scanning of appropriate documents upon discharge of the patient.
