Responsible for ensuring overall lowest cost of ownership and safe fleet operations including tractor-trailer fleet assets and maintenance.   • Bachelor's Degree in business or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • 5+ years of experience with fleet transportation/garage operations
  • 10+ years tractor-trailer maintenance
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and follow-up skills with close attention to detail
  • Demonstrated success in planning/execution of projects
  • Ability to create operating budgets/financial forecast
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and train
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills
  • Strong understanding of industry/technical terms and processes


Desired
  • Experience with fuel management systems (research and analysis), standards analysis, fleet licensing, International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA)/ Department of Transportation
  • Experience in specking equipment, both tractor, trailer, and fueling equipment
  • Create strategic plan and provide guidance for transportation technology for lowest cost of fleet ownership
  • Develop fleet vehicle specifications for the application of fleet vehicle design
  • Manage capital for acquiring fleet assets
  • Oversee fleet facility and equipment inspections
  • Lead the development and implementation of best in class fleet maintenance and safety best practices
  • Provide guidance to senior site leadership in coordinating fleet-related DC activities and maintenance
  • Administrate fleet maintenance software
  • Conduct transportation cost analysis
  • Develop preventive maintenance plans and repair programs
  • Provide oversight of the development of regulatory compliant maintenance programs and ensure ongoing compliance
  • Interact with regulatory agencies and assist with site visits and in the coordination of safety standards set forth by those agencies
  • Establish departmental budgets, correspondence and reports
  • Develop and lead departmental project for the cost-effective fleet ownership
  • Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports
  • Travel as needed for relevant stakeholder interface
