Position: Cook / Chef - Full Time
Pay: $15 - $17 / hour Depending On Experience
Knoxville Center for Behavioral Medicine - a comprehensive inpatient behavioral health facility. Our center will provide acute behavioral health care and outpatient treatment to adults and geriatric adults who are in crisis from severe symptoms related to behavioral health and/or substance use disorder.
As a Chef, you will be instrumental in the daily food preparation and delivery of cold or hot foods for patient meals. If you are passionate about improving behavior health and excited about the opportunity to be a part of opening a new hospital, we would love the opportunity to meet you.
Job Details: - 64-bed acute inpatient setting
- IOP/PHP oversight
- Adult and Geriatric client population
- Behavioral Health and Addiction Treatment
- Acute intervention focus with short term stays
- Joint venture/Professional partnerships between NHC, Tennova and University of Tennessee Medical Center - Knoxville
Qualifications/Experience: - High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must have a sincere interest in foodservice and enjoy working with healthcare patients.
- Must have, or possess the desire to learn, food preparation, and simple cooking skills.
- Must have knowledge of, or possess the desire to learn, therapeutic and modified diet information to use in preparing and serving patient trays.
- Must have knowledge of, or possess the desire to learn, correct sanitation and food safety procedures.
- Must possess and use excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Must be able to follow verbal and/or written instructions.
- ServSafe Certification or similar food safety certification, where required by the state and facility
Position Highlights: • Perform routine tasks related to clean up, and sanitation of kitchen, dining or serving areas.
• Properly prepare, serve and store food in accordance with facility policies.
• Ensure compliance with state or federal regulations.
• Prepare foods according to standardized recipes.
• Utilize service methods and food handling techniques to ensure quality.
