About You - A bachelor's degree in Planning, Civil Engineering, or Civil Engineering Technology
- 10 to 15 years of roadway design or transportation project delivery.
- Certification as an AICP or Professional Engineer (P.E.) is desired.
- Strong experience with TDOT projects, strongly preferred
- Demonstrated working knowledge of Bentley OpenRoads Designer (ORD), strongly preferred

About the Role As a
Senior Roadway Engineer, you will:
- Leverage long-standing relationships with municipalities, counties, and public agencies to strengthen client partnerships, support ongoing initiatives, and expand the firm's presence across the state.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to public-sector clients by providing guidance on navigating federal and state funding programs, requirements, and strategies to successfully secure and deliver funded projects.
- Support business development efforts by identifying opportunities within established networks and aligning client needs with the firm's technical capabilities and services.
- Provide insight into public agency processes, policies, and priorities to help shape project approaches, improve delivery, and enhance client outcomes.
- Assist clients in identifying, pursuing, and securing state and federal funding opportunities by aligning project needs with applicable programs, guiding application development, and positioning projects for successful delivery.
- Lead transportation planning and design projects from initiation through construction support and close-out in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring delivery on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with scope and quality standards.
- Direct and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, including internal staff and sub-consultants.
- Mentor and support junior engineers and technical staff in their professional development by deepening their understanding of deliverables and processes required for successful project delivery.
- Oversee the development of high-quality construction documents, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Develop, monitor, and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Track financial performance and coordinate with accounting and leadership on project reviews.
- Serve as the primary liaison between clients and the firm, building and maintaining strong relationships.
- Lead client meetings, facilitate workshops, and deliver clear, effective presentations of technical solutions and project updates.
- Support business development efforts through client engagement and proposal contributions.
- Implement and uphold QA/QC processes to ensure compliance with standards and project requirements.
- Identify risks, manage change, and maintain accurate project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams and disciplines to address technical challenges, optimize solutions, and ensure constructability.
- Apply project management tools and best practices to drive performance, prioritize tasks, and achieve project milestones.
