About You We're looking for someone who has:
- A bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, or a related field
- 20 years of experience in the A/E/C industry
- Certification as a Professional Engineer, Registered Architect, Registered Interior Designer, or Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Demonstrated success as a Project Manager on a wide variety of project sizes and types
- Experience providing effective oversight, formal training, and supervision for practitioners
- Strong organizational, managerial, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to coach and mentor others effectively
- Behavioral awareness and the savvy to work productively with cross-functional teams and disciplines
- Willingness and ability to work primarily in an office environment with regular travel to Gresham Smith offices
Preferred Qualifications - Familiarity with Project Management Institute (PMI) guidance for project management
- Experience implementing and overseeing firmwide programs
- Experience in a multi-discipline A/E firm or infrastructure organization
- Construction management experience
About the Role As the
Quality & Standards, you will:
- Lead development of firm-wide Quality training materials across all eight markets, including in-person classes, web-based lunch and learns, and virtual self-led learning through The Learning Center
- Collaborate with the Project Management Leader on topics spanning the Project Delivery Excellence (PDE) Pillar
Develop and deliver multi-day Essential Skills Training workshops and virtual self-directed learning programs
Develop and implement new Quality Management System (QMS) procedures addressing critical project delivery activities
Monitor adherence to QMS through project reviews, virtual meetings, and mentoring
Maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for Project Executives, Managers, Professionals, and Assistant Project Managers in quality, team relationships, client satisfaction, and financial performance
- Maintain employee portal resources on SharePoint, including online libraries of QMS documents, design materials, presentations, standards, and codes access management
- Manage and update online specifications editing platform
- Stay aware of and recommend technologies and software enhancing project delivery
- Assist the PDE Director with development of annual business plan aligning with firm strategic goals
- Coordinate with Market VPs, Technical Practice Leaders, and other leaders to identify and address market-specific QMS needs
- Lead development of QMS documents supporting Document Control Specialists
- Lead leadership groups focused on improving specific project delivery areas, disciplines, phases, and service lines
- Lead interview processes for senior-level PDE positions as required
- Provide leadership, mentoring, technical direction, and supervision to PDE team members for effective practice support
- Maintain standard tools and exhibits delineating roles and responsibilities for project personnel
- Assist with internal independent Project Reviews to identify conformance with QMS procedures
- Collaborate with Directors, Market VPs, and other firm leaders to align project management priorities with strategic plans
- Track and communicate best practices and lessons learned
- Work closely with Learning and Development, Risk Management, IT, Practice Technology, Corporate Communications, Operations, Accounting, HR, and senior management
