Job DescriptionAs a
Real Estate Attorney, you will provide legal guidance and support for all commercial real estate matters across the organization. This role requires a business-minded attorney with experience in managing a high volume of projects and the ability to efficiently prioritize a heavy workload.
Responsibilities- Provides trustworthy legal advice to the Asset Management team in managing extensive portfolio of real estate leases to ensure option notice deadlines are met and rental terms align with current market conditions.
- Monitors the closing process for the sale of excess property and sites where a right of first refusal is exercised.
- Supports the functional areas of Property Management, Maintenance and Field Operations on commercial real estate related matters post-store opening.
- Partners with the Store Development team throughout the commercial real estate development process and works closely with business counterparts to facilitate the opening of new retail locations across the US and Puerto Rico.
- Drafts and negotiates a wide variety of real estate documents, including, but not limited to, commercial real estate contracts and applicable amendments, closing documents, short form leases, easement agreements, estoppels and non-disturbance and attornment agreements.
Qualifications- Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in real estate development, contract or corporate law
- Firm, in-house experience is strongly preferred
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Ability to handle heavy workload and meet deadlines
- Excellent time-management, organizational, problem solving, and negotiating skills
- Must be able to work with limited supervision and be able to respond effectively to all priorities
- Must be able to work collaboratively
- Requires exceptional communication skills including written and verbal skills
- Possesses a strong level of discretion to manage all real estate legal contract information
