Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine Data Science and Digital Health Global function team is currently recruiting for an Associate Director GD DSDH; The locations for this role are in India and include Hyderabad and Bangalore. Remote work may be considered on a case-by-case basis and if approved by the Company. This team has accountability for full-scale impact across the drug development pipeline via AI/ML-driven site recommendation trial design optimization, trial acceleration, real-world evidence (RWE) generation, digital endpoints, decentralized trials, and external policy. This position is responsible for driving the functional performance of the trial acceleration capabilities or RWE innovation strategies that accelerate performance for timely, quantifiable business impact and collaboration across DSDH, GD, Therapeutic Area (TA) and other partners such as Medical affairs, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Clinical Supply. Other responsibilities maybe assigned depending on program-specific needs.
This position is primarily responsible for
- Drive insight generation for trial country and site optimization and forecasts e.g.: country and site recommendations, enrollment modeling, protocol design optimization as well as trial acceleration with utilization of AI/ML tools and methodologies.
- Lead utilization of real-world data for patient matching and enhancing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE& I) in clinical trial recruitment and protocol design
- Collaborate and drive alongside RWD teams in cohort creation, and building visualizations for patient journeys with heatmaps and analytics, as well as utilization of data tokenization across the prioritized portfolio and other RWE innovations
- Lead and supervise resourcing, development, performance management, and career growth of associates in DSGD India team.
- Identify and lead the building of business cases for identification and potential adoption of new technology tools eg: spearheading cross-functional initiatives to support new tool development within the Trials360.ai suite, scaling, and deployment, aligned with evolving business needs following and updating business processes, work instructions and SOP.
- Lead and drive productivity analysis for the assigned portfolio, generating actionable insights and enhancing efficiencies to support informed decision-making with the utilization of tools such as the Protocol Optimization Tool, E2E Cost Calculator, and others to optimize processes and outcomes
- Lead and develop innovative R& D Clinical Supply Chain frameworks, streamlining data processes and implementing automated solutions.
Required - A minimum of Masters in data-heavy sciences (physics, genetics, computational biology, data engineering, computer science) or related is preferred
- 8 years of relevant experience in clinical trial start-up/execution, applied technology, or pharma /biotech industry business operations is required with 2 years of hands-on experience in enrollment modeling/simulations, probabilistic scenario planning in early to late phase trials
- 5 years of relevant experience or deep understanding with benchmarking, data science and analytics, especially machine learning, data analytics, decision science, operations research and clinical trial feasibility.
- MS Excel advanced user or certified, with advanced skills in modeling and analytical methodologies and visualization tools.
- People Management and experience leading functional teams with proven ability to foster team productivity and cohesiveness, especially navigating in new and ambiguous areas.
- Strong and proactive stakeholder engagements skills are critical to be successful in this role with the ability to influence change, define new processes and establish new team norms
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to deliver focused, concise, clear, and timely data and technology assessments to Feasibility and leadership team
Preferred - Strong Project management/ PMP certification or similar and organizational skills with ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
- Hands-on experience working with dataset (Healthverity, Komodo) in the clinical trial feasibility Integrated Site Analytics, Diversity and Patient Matching., tokenization, with the knowledge of delivery systems/networks in US and Key global markets preferred.
- Working knowledge of the changing ecosystem of external data and publicly available data assets that would benefit a clinical operations data science team
This position may require up to 15% domestic or international travel
