Role reports to: Packaging Manager Engineer

Location: São josé dos campos, SP

What you will do

The Packaging SR Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and overseeing validation of package components and packaging processes, evaluating new package concepts and technologies, leading process improvement or task teams, and partnering with the creative design group to deliver packaging components in a timely manner for research and development and packaging system projects:

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop innovative packaging solutions that meet the needs of the company and its customers for self care products

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure packaging designs are aligned with product specifications and requirements

• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in packaging technology to continuously improve packaging solutions

• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and standards for packaging materials and design

• Conduct testing and analysis of packaging materials and designs to ensure optimal performance and cost-effectiveness

• Manage packaging projects from concept to completion, including budgeting and timeline management

• Design and develop new packaging components and packaging processes in alignment with the Role and general_summary

• Evaluate and research new package concepts and technologies to enhance packaging systems

• Lead and participate in process improvement or task teams to optimize packaging processes

• Collaborate with the creative design group to deliver packaging components in a timely manner for research and development and packaging system projects

• Direct and lead major sections of new package development projects to ensure successful completion

• Determine and recommend packaging methods and techniques to meet variations and adapt standard methods

• Utilize technical expertise, comprehensive work experience, and diverse package engineering knowledge to generate valid and creative solutions

• Plan and execute key engineering assignments concerned with unique or controversial problems having a major impact on company programs

• Lead large scope, high business impact packaging projects related to Brand maintenance or expansion, cost saving initiatives, innovative package development, and environment goals

• Have full technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments

• Coordinate and perform physical testing to ensure product and package integrity for manufacturing through end users

• Lead troubleshooting in the resolution of packaging related issues in manufacturing and the field

• Develop recommendations on general packaging guidelines and standards for processes and functional requirements

• Execute packaging projects in compliance with government and corporate guidelines

• Contribute to the company with inventions, new designs, processes, or techniques which are significant to the solution of important problems

• Develop package testing plans and interpret results as required for various projects

• Build technical competencies in packaging materials and processes used in all manufacturing processes

What we are looking for

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering or related field

• 4-6 years of experience in packaging design and development

• Strong knowledge of packaging materials, manufacturing processes, and testing methods

• Familiarity with Package Test methods is required

• Excellent project management and communication skills

• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams

• University/Bachelors Degree or Equivalent in Packaging Science & Technology

• Knowledge of FDA, cGMPs and CPSC regulations is highly desired

• Technical writing skills are required

Desired Qualifications

• Knowledge of Packaging Materials, including bottles, closures, induction liners, blister lidding and film, and pouching is preferred

• USP, ASTM, SPI methods for package testing or measurement is preferred

• Package Test Method development for packaging components is preferred

• Method Validation/Qualification is preferred

• Experience working in a Cross Functional environment is preferred
