The Supply Chain Planner will be responsible for providing strategic and tactical Supply Chain Demand Planning support for Elanco External Manufacturing. The role is responsible for creating/maintaining production plans with CMs (Contract Manufacturers), representing EEM in internal and external forums. This role also serves as supply chain business owner for Supply Chain standard processes, and has the responsibility of ensuring production schedule is aligned with commercial needs. This role needs to ensure accurate master data setup is correct in SAP, track and manage KPIs, manage inventory of materials and products, provide timely communication on supply status and ensure products are appropriately shipped to customers on time and in full to support sales demands.

Key Responsibilities:

Production Demand Planning:

  • Run Production Demand Planning transactions in in SAP
  • Review product demand with commercial teams on a monthly basis.
  • Generate rolling production demand following the monthly planning calendar
  • Maintain schedule and support capacity planning with external manufacturers.

Order Management:

  • Generate Purchase Orders and maintain PO delivery dates updated in in SAP and Ariba system.
  • Track open POS with Contract Manufacturers for updated delivery dates
  • Ensure timely communication with commercial and internal teams on delivery dates
  • Process orders in SAP to ensure that supply is on time and in full.
  • Support invoice approvals/rejects and handle exceptions
  • Troubleshoot SAP supply chain issues (POs, invoicing, payments, master data request) and work with team members to resolve
  • Support communication with internal groups, such as Intercompany Services (ICOS) to align on product deliveries and product logistics.

Inventory Management:

  • Monitor materials and finished product inventory levels and ensure Days of Stock KPI is maintained within targets
  • Monitor losses and ensure actions are in place to mitigate materials and finished products write offs
  • Support inventory management through review of slow-moving materials, materials nearing expiration/re-evaluation/ inventory accuracies/ risks and opportunities.
  • Handling component/product destructions from CM warehouses.
  • Support Inventory Reconciliations and physical inventory counts at the contract manufacturers, in the frequency established by Elanco finance and inventory team.

Master Data:

  • Ensure master data for materials and finished products procured from CMs and suppliers are maintained and accurate in SAP
  • Provide vendor management support, requesting new vendor set-up and changes needed to existing vendors in Elanco systems.
  • Keep Elanco internal systems updated in accordance to processes in place

Operational Support:

  • Attend and prepare for routine meetings, such as the Internal Process Team and meetings with CMs, and other meetings relevant to the SC Planner role, such as Joint Process Team Meetings
  • Track and manage relevant Supply Chain KPIs, including SOTD% (Supplier On Time Delivery), POs Past Due, DOS (Days of stock), Absorption, Inventory Slow Moving and Losses.
  • Support preparation of R& OP/Supply Review meetings, and address corrective/preventive actions to ensure supply continuity
  • Create and maintain documents and reports to support the process teams
  • Develop corrective actions to drive results to meet targets.
  • Complete all assigned actions within the required timeframe.
  • Support on Business Planning activities
  • Support product launches by representing supply chain and completing activities identified in launch teams.
  • Support investigations for deviations, or own deviations if Supply Chain related
  • Support on Change control execution in terms of Supply Chain and master data process.
  • Support implementation of continuous improvements initiatives to bring down costs and increase efficiency

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in lieu of the degree 4+ years’ experience in Supply chain management
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships with areas inside and outside of Elanco
  • Scheduling experience
  • SAP competency (S4 Hanna)
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Powerpoint, Word)
  • Advanced English
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

  • Knowledge of IBP, Ariba
  • Shop Floor experience
  • Demonstrated project management
  • Oral and written communication/ interpersonal interaction skills
  • Knowledge of supply chain tools and business processes
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively
  • Experience interfacing with various manufacturing functional groups, such as production, logistics, quality control, quality assurance, and technical services
  • Logistics experience
  • Fluent / Advanced English skills (spoken/written)
  • Knowledge of Power BI and other report/dashboard creation tools to support the operation

Additional Information:

  • Overnight travel may be required
  • Some travel required (10 - 15%)
  • Location: Hybrid (60% office / 40% remote)
