Schneider Electric is hiring!
Description:
Safety Academy Electrical Trainer / Assessor
Location: Telford - Full time, primarily site based
Schneider Electric is looking for an experienced Electrical Safety Trainer to join our Safety Academy team in Telford.
This role sits within an established, high performing training team.
You will deliver operational electrical safety training to both external customers and internal engineers, helping shape safe working practices across the power and utilities sector.
If you are an experienced electrical engineer from a distribution or DNO background and want to move into a more office based role with reduced travel, this position offers a clear transition path.
What you will be doing
You will deliver high and low voltage operational safety courses from entry level access through to Senior Authorised Person level.
Your time will be split between classroom delivery and practical sessions within our purpose built demonstration centre in Telford. Around 10 percent of your time will involve travel to UK and Ireland customer sites.
You will also:
• Assess delegate competence and provide recommendations for authorisation
• Produce professional reports on performance and suitability
• Develop and update course materials
• Support the development of new training packages
• Contribute to maintaining high safety standards across all sessions
What we are looking for
You must bring strong electrical engineering experience. Technical credibility is critical in this role. You will be standing in front of experienced engineers and must be able to command the room through knowledge and experience.
We are particularly interested in candidates with:
• Background in electrical distribution, DNO or similar operational power environments
• Experience working with high voltage and low voltage systems
• Technical electrical qualifications or apprenticeship
• Strong understanding of UK electrical safety legislation
• Confidence presenting to groups and communicating technical topics clearly
Teaching qualifications are not essential. We can support development in training delivery. The priority is deep technical capability and practical experience.
You must hold a full UK driving licence due to occasional customer site delivery.
Why this role
• 90 percent site based in Telford
• Limited travel compared to field engineering roles
• Structured environment within an established training team
• Opportunity to influence safety standards across industry
What we offer you:
Competitive salary & Bonus Scheme, 28 Days Annual Leave + Public Holidays, Pension Scheme, Employee Share Ownership Programme, Various Health & Wellbeing Support Options, Gym Flex, Open Talent Market (internal mobility opportunities + access to mentors & projects globally), Shopping & Dining Discounts, Learning Portal and much more.
