We are searching for the best talent for Senior Director Operations Business Unit Parenterals to be in based in Schaffhausen - Switzerland.

Purpose: The Senior Director Operations Business Unit Parenterals is a critical member of the site leadership team as well as board of directors for the legal entity and must be acquainted with the annual company and division goals, as well as being aware of how they can influence these through their performance while complying with GMP, EHS and SOX requirements and guidelines at all times. This key role provides an excellent opportunity for truly making a difference for the Schaffhausen site and the network as it is responsible for efficiently and reliably delivering quality product to patients, business planning, team leadership and development, stakeholder engagement, compliance, safety and risk management as well as critical project execution. Strong focus is put on growing our talent, aligning business strategies with future needs and fostering a strong company culture and engagement.

You will be responsible for:

  • Leading the Business Unit Parenteral Filling according to global and local objectives and with a focus on business and people development.
  • Ensuring a reliable supply of products in compliance with safety and quality regulations and costs targets.
  • Ensuring a flawless execution of NPI- and transfer activities (product & technology).
  • Ensuring flawless on time in budget execution of critical investments and capability building projects in Parenterals.
  • Organization and overall lead of the departments within the Business Unit to assure safe and flawless execution of all activities and seamless e2e collaboration.
  • Compliance with the GMP, EHS and SSOX requirements and guidelines, which are connected to the respective functions.
  • Developing departmental goals in line with site and platform goals and objectives as well as execution and continuous monitoring of progress towards these goals.
  • Business planning within the Business Unit and adherence to cost center budget with oversight on overall ongoing costs, regular cost vs budget reviews within the departments.
  • Coordination and supervision of new product introductions.
  • Standardization of processes with other departments and within the BU.
  • Advancing organizational and people development – i) responsible for organizational effectiveness in alignment with functional, site and platform needs, ii) attracting and selecting diverse talent, iii) providing robust succession plan for the BU, iv) managing direct reports and assuring high performing teams in all departments of the BU, v) assuring a Credo based environment which upholds the company’s commitment to employee development and the value of a diverse and inclusive workforce.
  • Being an active member of the Site Leadership team, acting as deputy to the Site GM as required.
  • Collaborating closely with peer departments such as OI, DAP, MSAT, QA, QC, EHS, BEX and Finance as well as VCM, DPDS and F2P2.
  • Representing the BU to internal and external customers and governmental authorities.

Required Technical Competencies & Knowledge

  • Pharma operations experience, ideally in parenterals.
  • Experienced in technology transfer and process optimization.
  • Specific experience of manufacturing in GMP environment.
  • Knowledge and experience in lean operations and process excellence methodologies.
  • Degree in Economics, Science, Engineering preferred (MBA, MSC, PHD).
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience within pharmaceutical or GMP regulated operations environment is preferred.
  • People management experience, especially leading leaders is required together with resource management in an Operations Department or related function.
  • Fluency in German and English, spoken and written, is a must.
  • 10% travel required.
