Position Summary:

The Global Lead, Site Engineering Biotherapeutics will be a key member of the Global Engineering Leadership Team, responsible for supporting and executing the engineering strategy across all Biotherapeutics manufacturing sites. This role will be pivotal in enhancing operational excellence, asset reliability, and technical standardization while ensuring alignment with network strategy and global engineering priorities.

The role will support global engineering initiatives, ensuring alignment with evolving business needs and technological advancements. It will require strong stakeholder management and influencing leadership skills to collaborate across Manufacturing, Quality, MSAT, Facilities, EHS and the broader global engineering function. #Li-Hybrid

Key Responsibilities:

  • Global Engineering Platform Leadership

    • Act as a member of the Global Engineering Leadership Team, contributing to the overall engineering vision and strategy for Biotherapeutics operations.

    • Support the development and execution of the network engineering strategy, ensuring engineering capabilities are aligned with business objectives and future manufacturing needs.

    • Lead site engineering teams to drive technical standardization, efficiency improvements, and project execution, automation and maintenance execution performance aligned with business objectives.

  • Support for Digital & Automation Initiatives

    • Partner with Global Engineering, IT, Digital Operations and Technical Services (DOTS) and site teams to support automation and digital transformation initiatives, ensuring alignment with enterprise objectives.

    • Work closely with site teams to implement smart manufacturing solutions, data-driven decision-making, and automation improvements.

    • Technical Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement

      • Serve as a key liaison between engineering, operations, quality, and supply chain functions, ensuring cross-functional collaboration and alignment.

      • Provide engineering leadership for major capital projects, ensuring cost efficiency, technical excellence, and flawless execution.

      • Drive maintenance excellence and reliability performance across manufacturing sites.

      • Engage with external industry forums to benchmark best practices and bring innovative solutions into the platform.

  • Talent Development & Organizational Leadership

    • Actively participate in inclusion initiatives to build a well-rounded, high-performing engineering team.

    • Foster a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and innovation, enabling cross-functional learning and best practice sharing.

    • Develop and mentor engineering leaders across the network, ensuring a strong talent pipeline for future leadership roles.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.

  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in engineering leadership with multi-site responsibility in a regulated industry (preferably biopharmaceuticals).

  • Experience supporting strategic maintenance, automation and operational excellence initiatives, ensuring alignment with business and operational needs.

  • Strong background in engineering strategy, capital project execution, and technical operations.

  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders, drive alignment, and lead cross-functional teams in a global, matrixed environment.

  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills to drive impact in a fast-paced, evolving landscape.

  • Willingness to travel up to 25% (domestic and international).
