Lead the Cambria Hotel Rapid City near Mount Rushmore as our next Hotel General Manager, taking ownership of hotel operations, revenue growth, guest experience, and team performance. This high-impact hospitality leadership role combines sales strategy, RevPAR and occupancy growth, financial performance, and associate development in one of the Midwest's most active tourism markets.

JOB SUMMARY

Lead the overall performance of the Cambria Hotel Rapid City near Mount Rushmore, an upscale, full-service hotel serving the Rapid City and Black Hills market. The General Manager has responsibility for hotel operations, financial performance, sales and revenue growth, guest experience, and the development of a high-performing hospitality team.

The property features 111 upscale suites, an onsite restaurant and bar, and meeting and event space, serving leisure and business travelers, corporate and group business, sports teams, tour groups, and special events. Located near Mount Rushmore, Badlands National Park, and the Black Hills, the hotel operates in one of the Midwest's most recognized tourism destinations.

This is an opportunity for an experienced Hotel General Manager or hospitality operations leader who knows how to drive occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, profitability, guest satisfaction, and associate engagement while strengthening the hotel's position in the Rapid City market.

WHAT YOU'LL LEAD

  • Provide overall leadership for Front Office, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Food & Beverage, Sales, Revenue Management, and Guest Services
  • Drive occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, market share, and hotel profitability
  • Develop and execute sales and marketing strategies that grow corporate, leisure, group, sports, tour, meeting, and event business
  • Partner with Revenue Management on pricing, forecasting, inventory, competitive positioning, and demand strategy
  • Build relationships with local businesses, tourism organizations, event planners, sports organizations, and community partners to generate new business
  • Maintain strong guest satisfaction scores and ensure guest concerns are resolved quickly and professionally
  • Lead the hotel's annual budget, forecasts, operating results, capital planning, and overall financial performance
  • Analyze revenue, labor, operating expenses, and departmental performance to identify opportunities to improve profitability
  • Maintain strong financial and cash controls and work with Accounting to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Recruit, coach, develop, and retain a strong hotel leadership and operations team
  • Establish clear performance expectations, hold leaders accountable, and develop future leaders through coaching and succession planning
  • Partner with Human Resources on recruiting, employee relations, performance management, retention, leave, workers' compensation, and compliance
  • Maintain Cambria brand standards across guest service, cleanliness, property condition, Food & Beverage, and overall hotel operations
  • Conduct regular property inspections and ensure maintenance, safety, security, and appearance standards are consistently achieved
  • Maintain a visible leadership presence with guests, associates, business partners, and the Rapid City community

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • 3+ years of hotel management, hotel operations, hospitality management, resort, or full-service hotel leadership experience preferred
  • Hotel General Manager, Assistant General Manager, Director of Operations, or similar hotel leadership experience strongly preferred
  • Experience leading multiple hotel departments, including Front Office, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Food & Beverage, Sales, or Revenue Management
  • Strong understanding of hotel P& L, budgeting, forecasting, labor management, and cost control
  • Working knowledge of RevPAR, ADR, occupancy, revenue management, and hotel sales strategy
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, delegate, develop, and hold teams accountable for results
  • Strong guest service, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on hotel operations
  • Experience with hotel operating systems, financial reporting, and business technology
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred

COMPENSATION & TOTAL REWARDS

Targeted Salary Range: $87, 000–$93, 000 annually, based on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated hotel leadership expertise.
