About the Role
Manage a cash drawer and balances it daily according to teller performance standards and keeps accurate record of money, official checks and gift cards involved in customer transactions. Provides exemplary customer service, staff training, supervision and coaching of the branch teller staff.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
    • Execute PREMIER customer service by greeting all customers promptly, processing transactions accurately and efficiently, maintaining confidentiality, and understanding the features and benefits of First PREMIER Bank’s products and services.
    • Partner with the Branch Manager to coordinate staff schedules, workflow, and ensure effective operation of all parts of the branch, including consistent PREMIER customer service standards. Also performs branch opening and closing duties independently.
    • Follow a range of mandatory procedures to ensure that work is carried out to the required quality standards and/or to ensure adherence to external regulatory and internal codes of conduct.
    • Monitor security procedures by communicating alerts, key assignments, dual control for key/combinations, cash audits, updating notification lists, training and updating procedures, assignment of alarm codes, distribution of alarm packets, and responding to alarms at the branch.
    • Process transactions including deposits and withdrawals, cashed checks, Savings Bonds, and receipt of payments (loans, credit cards, credit lines).
    • Review transactions override requests for accuracy to perform overrides as needed.
    • Assign and oversees Vault, drawer, and TCR responsibilities.
    • Review account information, help customers and tellers with complex problems or questions and keep customer information current using internal systems.
    • Interview, hire, and train new staff. Provide constructive and timely performance reviews. Handle discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Express ideas, request action, and formulate plans by means of clear and effective verbal communications to respond to customers and/or organizational needs.
  • Understand and effectively use standard office equipment and software packages to support business processes.
  • Work at an advanced level to recognize sales opportunities during service interactions to enhance overall customer service.
  • Conduct oneself in a manner that promotes trust in the individual and the organization.
  • Cooperatively interact with co-workers to promote an effective and productive work unit.
  • Effectively manage time to ensure prompt completion of tasks and duties.
  • Provide constructive feedback to enhance performance with effective management and leadership skills.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills, clear and effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of cash handling or related experience is required.
  • Supervisory or management experience is preferred.
  • Basic computer skills, customer service, and/or banking experience is preferred.
