Description:

The primary role of the Laboratory Technician is to execute compounding support activities and support activities for the Analytical Services Laboratory. In addition, the Laboratory Technician will be responsible for glassware maintenance, solution prep and utility testing. The following characteristics are essential in order to be a contributing team member in the Analytical Services Laboratory: ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, open to working flexible hours, shifting priorities based on laboratory needs, document data according to cGMPs, organized, and dependability.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for performing testing associated with in-process samples
  • Notify Laboratory Management of out of specification results and assist in the investigations of OOS and deviations as requested by Laboratory Management.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures, documentation, safety, health, and cGMP Guidelines.
  • Responsible for ensuring that routine maintenance of general instrumentation is performed as stated in the instrument manual and contacting the manufacturer for assistance when needed.
  • Responsible for ensuring logbooks are closed out and new ones acquired.
  • Entering laboratory metrics data
  • Assist in the general maintenance of the laboratory including good housekeeping (and a safe working environment). Duties include but not limited to:
  • Dishes, Pipets (cleaning, maintaining)
  • Inventory (Lab Supplies, Chemicals, Reagents, Standards, Columns etc.)
  • Housekeeping, cleaning and organizing
  • Administrative duties
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures, safety, health, and cGMP Guidelines.

Educational requirements:

  • high school

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in laboratory environment, preferred
  • High school degree, technical degree preferred
  • Proficient with current word processing, spreadsheets, and database software required
  • Ability to participate in and contribute to a team-oriented work environment by developing positive working relationships within the laboratory and between other departments.
