​​ The Service Engineer will be responsible for supporting systems with a high-level configuration and integration of the following solutions: IP video surveillance, access control, enterprise wireless and networking; voice, data and fiber cabling, unified communications, and audio/visual solutions. They will serve as both an escalation point for all maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs and serve as a technical advisor to staff and clients. ​

Essential Functions

• ​​ Supporting systems at a high level
• ​ Documentation and end-user training
• ​ Serve as a subject matter expert
• ​ Serve as a technical advisor
• ​ Serve as an escalation point for troubleshooting
• ​ Proficiency in peripheral systems such as visitor management, video intercom, LPR, analytics and gate systems
• ​ Proficiency of IP camera technology, controller hardware, door hardware and credential technologies
• ​ Participation in project commissioning and testing
• ​ Assist in the enforcement of standards related to final documentation ​

Minimum Qualifications

• ​​ High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education/experience
• ​ Current and valid US driver's license
• ​ At least 5 years of experience in the physical security, IT or electronics field
• ​ Serve as a Service Professional (or equal) for a minimum of 6 years
• ​ Hold and retain at least 3 VMS and 2 access control certifications
• ​ Minimum of 2 years experience configuring physical security systems
• ​ Basic knowledge of network fundamentals, SQL database and Windows Server ​

• ​​ Ability to communicate at a high level with customer IT staff
• ​ Ability to work with the customer to design system configurations
• ​ Ability to possess advanced system design and quoting abilities to assist sales when needed
• ​ Excellent external and internal communication skills
• ​ Organization, attention to detail and ability to multi task
• ​ Ability to work a flexible schedule
• ​ Experience in configuring access control and surveillance systems ​

Physical Demands
This position requires physical activity consistent with a construction or installation environment. The employee will spend more than two-thirds of their time standing, kneeling, crouching, stooping, using hands to handle or feel, and reaching with hands and arms. Approximately one-third of the time may be spent walking and engaging in verbal communication or listening. Frequent lifting and moving of materials weighing between 25 and 50 pounds is required.

Work Environment
This role may involve travel to project sites and exposure to a variety of environmental conditions. These may include outdoor weather, proximity to forklifts or other heavy machinery, and the use of hand tools or hardware. Employees may be subject to frequent heavy lifting and other physical demands typical of a construction or warehouse environment.
