Assistant Professor of Mathematics Spartanburg Methodist College Full-Time, Tenure-Track Begins August 2027 Spartanburg Methodist College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty appointment as an Assistant Professor of Mathematics beginning in August 2027. This is an on-campus position with a primary emphasis on undergraduate teaching. We seek an enthusiastic and student-centered mathematician who is passionate about teaching, committed to helping students develop confidence and competence in mathematics, and excited to contribute to a small, collaborative academic community. Teaching Responsibilities The successful candidate will teach four undergraduate courses per semester. Teaching responsibilities will primarily support SMC's general education mathematics curriculum and may include: Principles of AlgebraIntroductory StatisticsExplorations in MathematicsPrecalculusCalculus for Business and the Social SciencesCalculus I and II Instruction will primarily be face-to-face on SMC's Spartanburg campus. SMC serves many first-generation college students as well as students with varied levels of academic preparation and experience with mathematics.
