O.E. DuRant, Inc, a subsidiary of Moran Towing Corporation, has a new opportunity available in the position of Sales & Logistics Coordinator. This full-time, hourly, non-exempt position sits in O.E. DuRant, Inc.'s Hanahan office location, and reports to the Operations Manager.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Sales and Logistics Coordinator (SLC) works with both management and the sales team. In conjunction with the Operations Manager (OM), this position ensures that O.E. DuRant's ("Company") standard operating and safety procedures are strictly adhered to in accordance with the Company Safety Management System (SMS). This position provides an important link between the Company and the customer by fielding requests and funneling RFQs to the Sales Department based on priority. The SLC maintains customer contact through the sales process, providing quality customer service in a timely manner. In addition, the SLC works closely with the Company's external Customs Broker and OM to track, clear, and deliver vessel spares when directed. The incumbent will also organize deliveries, launches and pickups in conjunction with the OM, maintaining usual operations in the OM's absence. The SLC will also be asked to assist as a Sales Administrator at times as a secondary function of the role.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED, TO:

  • Maintains contact with Vessel Agents to keep ahead of changing berthing/departure times to facilitate vessel deliveries in the most cost effective manner.
  • Updates the Vessel Activity Sheet daily for scheduling of operational movements and deliveries.
  • Provides timely and positive customer service to all customers and vendors.
  • Quotes delivery pricing, organizes logistics, and tracks spares requests from customers. This includes, but is not limited to, Airport Pickup, Customs Clearance, and Cash to Master Payments.
  • Prepares materials for, and conducts, Monthly Safety Meeting presentations.
  • Supports Sales Order generation and invoicing customers.
  • Suggests continuous improvements of SMS to OM and GM.
  • Receives quotes for products/services, handles quote mark-ups, works with GM to transfer quotes to customer formats and convert them to a sales order, then provides direction to warehouse personnel for order processing and delivery.
  • Maintains and validates supplier pricing lists.
  • Negotiates pricing for various inventory items from vendors and selects best fit options.
  • Visits suppliers' facilities to qualify them as new sources.
  • Assists in resolving production, design, quality and/or delivery problems.
  • Studies market prices and trends and advises management of market and vendor conditions which may/will affect contract pricing and/or performance.
  • Builds and maintains strong customer and vendor relationships.
  • Is available for after hours on call responsibilities and occasional weekend and holiday work.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Word and Excel in an environment requiring administrative, financial, and clerical duties to support the office.
  • Valid Driver's License and good driving record required. These must be maintained during employment and incumbent must adhere to the requirements of the Company's Driver Safety Policy.
  • Strong problem solving, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and ease with phone and in-person contacts.
  • Demonstrated ability to:

o Connect with customers and advance business objectives.

o Remain focused with repetitive tasks and prioritize own workload and multiple tasks.

o Make arithmetic calculations and Metric vs. Imperial conversions.

o Be a positive member of a strong team environment.

PREFERRED QUALFICATIONS
  • Associate Degree
  • 1-2 years related work experience

  • Use a computer for typing and data entry with good finger dexterity.
  • Frequently reach with hands and arms.
  • Work safely and navigate in an industrial setting.

  • Occasionally crouch or stoop.
  • Occasionally lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Hear and respond to verbal communication in noisy environments such as piers, docks, warehouses with moving heavy equipment.
  • Withstand occasional exposure to heat, cold and or/humidity.

Our target pay range for the Sales & Logistics Coordinator position is $20.00-$24.00per hour. This pay range represents Moran's commitment to pay transparency and is a reasonable estimate of possible compensation for this role at the time of posting. The final salary for this role will be determined based on careful consideration of a variety of factors, such as the candidate's exact location, experience, and expertise related to the qualifications.
