Description:
DESCRIPTIONMichael Baker International is currently seeking a Survey Project Associate for our Survey practice in Charleston, SC. This role will focus on overseeing and coordinating survey projects, ensuring quality and timely completion of field assignments.
RESPONSIBILITIES - Project Management: Develop survey scopes, estimate costs/schedules, delegate tasks, monitor contractor performance, and ensure timely delivery.
- Field Coordination: Plan daily assignments, direct field crews, manage equipment, and ensure accurate data collection.
- Technical Duties: Conduct record research, perform calculations, use CAD software, review plats, and maintain survey databases.
- Quality & Compliance: Implement quality control, ensure adherence to standards, and prepare legal descriptions or reports.
- Supervision/Training: Train staff, manage personnel, and promote ethical practices.
- Assists with monitoring and ordering work supplies and schedules of vehicle and equipment maintenance.
- Maintains inventory of all field equipment and vehicles on a weekly basis.
- Assists with compiling internal documentation and the inspection of deliverables for accuracy and correctness.
- Provides permit modifications requests, 811 tickets, records requests, MOT, and start work notice supports.
- Performs additional administrative and technical duties as assigned.
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS - Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related field
- 2+ Years' experience - Prefer some exposure to construction services as it relates to highway projects but not required
- EIT (Engineer-in-Training) or SIT (Surveyor-In- Training) or ability to obtain within 2 years
- Knowledge of surveying principles, land use regulations, and mapping.
- Proficiency in survey software, CAD, and GPS equipment.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
COMPENSATION The approximate compensation range for this position is $75, 000 to $85, 000. This range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
